Depends if everyone goes home in one piece but normally a couple of hours on average.

Takes pretty long then. Just can't tear myself away from bf3 at present.
Have a annoying bug in 1.2.1,,, seems there is no JTAC comms in the 'create fast mission' sim option?
Basically generate a mission this way, which is useful to practice, everything works fine however in the brief you are told to you will have contact with JTAC on xxx frequency and radio.
However there is no JTAC listed in the radio list. Have checked and triple checked my radio settings, its just missing.
So this creates quite a problem as you are pretty much flying blind over a war zone and inevitably get pinged by mobile SAM's or manpads when you go in for a closer look.
Anyone care to confirm this please.

Had a look in the manual, no mention of radios with JTAC. Wonder if it will be posible to config TARS with a common freq?

You normally contact JTAC on say 30.0 VHF Am or Fm or whatever as stipulated in the briefing.
So in the fast mission generator you start up take off and fly the waypoints make sure your radio is tuned to the right frequency or else you wont hear them or be able to talk to them.
However when you call up the VHF AM radio as an example (or any other radio) you get a list of 'possible contacts'.
This normally includes your wingman on the top followed by atc ground crew etc etc, Jtac should be on the list if they are included in the mission and mission briefing as they are your contact point to direct you to targets, friendly forces and so on, but isnt!
So you have no way of transmitting to them to at all, even if you are on the right frequency and radio.
The mission we flew the other night when you hosted also had no JTAC in the list, where it should have and it seems to be a bug of sorts.

There is a workaround for mp missions I think, but as far as 'create fast mission' goes it needs to be fixed under the hood in the code.

Hey m8, I am with u on that. The problem comes in when I take the role of JTAC in combined arms. There os no way to tune radios to get comms with other players.
Me and Flanders had a mission last night where It was impossible to contact me on the freq specified trough Tars, we need to get that sorted. I was JTAC in combined arms.

Well my prob is I'm at angels 20 and being forced down to under 10 to look with a mk1 eyeball for targets, and then I get sent to Valhalla by a manpad in less than 5 seconds cause I cant communicate with the grunts on the ground.
I should just let them die rather

lol. Well it's weird because that Bactria mission worked hundreds with JTAC and it is actually an older mission I believe. But as you say, maybe MP is not the problem.
Ya, last night in a different mission, midnite went in as JTAC and he could hear me transmit on 30FM but he had to type back. I wonder if we could use that SU-25 workaround (251.00 and 119.70) for JTAC as well?
