DCS World. A serious combat flight sim

Some decent basic flight training (start with the SOP[Standard Operating Procedures] training):

I like Gerry Abbott's tutorials:

This is a nice breakdown of the CBU's :

The in-game tutorials are decent, but requires you to read the manuals before doing them. You'll probably need to redo them a couple of times to understand everything though.

Thanx for the info. Will start with it tonight.

Oh, btw - TS 3.0.9.2 works with latest TARS according to Headspace. So you can hit that annoying update button when it pops up over TS.

Yes welcome Dirk, look forward to seeing you on the flight line.

Hey guys, midnite says he'll have a server up for most of tomorrow and then we'll hit an evening session as well from about 6:30 - 7pm onward.

Vlerk, wtf happened?

Holy hell we laughed hard!

Vlerkies: "Where is the tanker agai..." *vlerkies crashed*

:D :D

Sorry guys. My beautiful wife made me an awesome lunch and then things got a bit hot in the kitchen which lead to dessert ...

That pretty much sums it up, head down looking at radio and stuff, was flying level but zero vis, then when I looked up again the instruments showed the plane had rolled a bit to the right and was descending, as I corrected the mountain appeared.

Was late so just rage quit hahaha.

Not often I get a sense of complete disorientation like that flight simming, and just a few seconds eyes off the instruments was all it took!.

Well you should have seen what happened just after that. We had pretty much mopped 'em up at that point anyway and decided to all head off to the big Texaco station in the sky. Did our thing there and formed quite a tight echelon left on Midnite's wing - Crog at 2, me at 3. It was getting pretty dark by that time (even in clear skies above that 10 000ft layer of pea soup) so we pointed towards home plate. Midnite calls for the descent and we drop back into the overcast and INSTANTLY lose each other. Seriously we were stone's throw dstance apart - if that. I call "2, breaking left!" (I was on the edge of the formo) amidst much panic, cursing and finally laughter on the radio. :D

When we broke the cloud base on downwind it was like proper night time down there. Actually a really good mission with a nice feel to it. I enjoyed that extra weather challenge.

That escort mission through the mountain pass mission is a lot of fun. TGP kept getting blocked by mountains and wings, so it took Midnight and I spent probably a good 30 min just looking some targets. Eventually we ran out of ordnance and fuel, before the convoy reached WP 2.

Was that the 1.2 version of that Vetka mission? I'm trying to review some MP tracks and having issues. Wondering if maybe I need the mission file installed?

Nevermind, you need to make sure it's unpaused and then wait for the guys to spawn otherwise you appear to be stuck on an F10 map screen.

Track file went wonky on my side though. When I RTB'd to repair and rearm it showed me stopping in the middle of the runway when in fact I taxied off. Then it showed me taxi off into the grass and get stuck when in fact I got airborne and joined Vlerk before meeting up with the other guys back at the convoy. Not sure what causes it but my suspicions lie with fast forwarding.
