That's just the mobo model number and socket type for Intel. LGA775 were the years of DDR2 and cross-over to DDR3.mobo is a d945gtp ... and says lga775 on it.

No, if it is Intel Desktop Board D945GTP, 4GB sticks are not supported. She takes maximum 4x2GB sticks, up to 8GB, but will use maximum 4GB, due to addressing restrictions. So 2x2GB or 4x1GB is your maximum.its going to work fine then yes with 4gb RAM? ddr2?
