De Ruyter's load-shedding disaster

Load-shedding under Eskom CEO André de Ruyter has been the worst South Africa has ever seen, new data released by the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) showed.

Jarrad Wright, the principal engineer at the CSIR, published a chart showing the level of load-shedding from 2007 to 2021.

The chart showed that 2020 and 2021 were the worst years on record for load-shedding in South Africa at 1,798MWh and 1,914MWh, respectively.

Middle management sabotaging efforts more and more....equipment that hasn't been maintained for years and years getting worse by the day.

Blame De Ruyter......it is HIS fault now that ESKOM is a disaster. He inherited a cancer patient already on it's deathbed.
Exactly.
De Ruyter is cleaning corruption and they realized that the race card is not working to get De Ruyter removed.
So maybe sabotage?

I completely agree, this guy must have balls of steel to take on this mission and working with this bunch of cANCer morons.

I mean how can you blame ceo if the dum ass low level engineers blowing up the bloody units.... Okay. Dam the man basically fighting to sort **** out.... It's like giving the man a sinking ship and asking him to make it float.

Well looking at the power alert website 2GW just disappeared and 4GW from last night. Fun times at Eskom

Well if he's not there to save the sinking ship then what the hell is he there to do? As CEO he has the power and authority to get rid of the non performing managers if that's what it takes to right that upside down ship.

I like that you can guys can see the nuances and difficulties in managing Eskom now that de Ruyter is CEO

Everytime he does that, he faces endless tribunals and racism accusations.

Nice try. Huge difference between corrupt managers and "nuances and difficulties"...stop implying we give De Ruyter a pass 'cos he is a Whitey. It's getting old now tbh.

I assume that de Ruyter can't do. If he does the race card gets pulled.

Race card didn't wash with that chief procurement guy. And he went nuclear, politically speaking. There are plenty black Eskom managers who got pushed out by the previous corrupt regimes so if he needs to replace incompetent black with black he has the resources. Just so no one cries racism.

I agree that it's not his fault but where's the proof of the middle management sabotage, you can't protect him from unfair criticism while throwing around your own wild accusations.

Please read more carefully:

There is a huge difference between " sabotaging efforts" and actual sabotage.

I do wonder why De Ruyter gets an explanation when previous CEO's get summarily dismissed for cadreship. Not that you'd admit it, but white people here have bent over backwards to explain his failures. All the talks of scape goat, token whitey, etc shows the trying too hard that you seem determined to ascribe to me coming from your side. And mind you as I said to you the other day I don't think it's all his fault, Eskom is just beyond saving because of the ANC.

Exactly.!

The data in that table seems like complete bs though.

In 2008 we had multiple days of perma load shedding at a time just to give an idea of how wrong that table is stating we had barely any load shedding in 2008. If 2008 numbers show up that wrong then it is probably safe to assume the other years listed is also incorrect.

Sht is as bad now as its been before De Ruyter but its bias to believe the stats in that table as remotely accurate.

2009-2013 listed without any load shedding ? What kind of drugs were consumed for that person to get to that number of 0.

Because there actually wasn't any load shedding on those years, same as between 2016 and 2018.
Not sure what you mean by perma load shedding??

For the same reason, if you stand at ATM late at night withdrawing money with an old white lady behind you, there's no reason to panic.

We've been having it for two decades. Fool me once, shame on me...

Unless of course you happen to be black and the old white lady behind you had a family with a reputation for beating, killing and enslaving black people, then you might panic.

As you yourself said, rabbits were pulled out of hats today of the likes we've never probably seen or heard of... and the sad thing is I am getting the feeling it will be loadshedding by the weekend once again.

Oh and by the way.. De Ruyter se ma se p**s!
