Hey Oiks,

Just got me a 2nd hand Antec NeoHe 430w on Monday...finally got time to install it today.

Anyways pc started up fine, got into windows then boom...fans still spinning but no display.

Pulled out the plug and plugged it back in, hit the start but nothing happened...

Put my old psu back in...pc works, tried the Antec in two other pcs and still dead.

Does this mean this psu is dead? Good thing there's still warranty til next year but damn...I always thought Antec made quality products.

if you tried it in two other pcs then it is undoubtedly vrek

My Antec 500w has been working hard for a long while. Never had any problems... Did you get hit my lightning or eskom-fried?... Warranty doesn't cover those though

You get it off Proph classifieds?

Yep :(

No dude, just got it installed, turned on pc...jumped around in joy then dropped my jaw...powered my pc for not even 5min.

:-/

I'd say so... Ask seller if he experienced anything similar.

Stupid idea PmP, I say that because if he did, "buyer" could then say he wants his money back.
Is it under warranty still? take it back to suppliers - it has a warranty for a reason ;) USEEEEEEEEEE IT :)

Anyways just tried it again just now...seems to be working again....maybe an overload protection or something that lasts overnight?

Either way, its fine again :D

ps...could this be a sign of dying psu?

you are too optimistic ;)

Lol well I did ask him about it. He said it was in perfect condition and he's actually pretty shocked coz he replaced it last yeah Aug.

Anyways, warranty only ends Nov 2010...will just use this for now until more problems before then

Optimistic is the way to go! :D

Ja but the seller from whom Name bought it from is quite well-known and reputable so it would be expected that he act in good faith. Probably already did though seeing as he says it was 100% working before selling it.

you do ofcourse (or not) know that a faulty psu CAN fuxxor your mobo/cpu any other components . . .

That's the problem with computer hardware I guess.
Remember PmP that motherboard I sold where the guy said it was dead but I think he just didn't want it.
I took the board out, tested it quickly, packed it away, advertised it, sold it and 3 days later he calls me and tells me it is dead... complete BS if you ask me, but with computer hardware (if it really was) it does happen I guess. Use the warranty is the only answer.

Yep... And "At buyer's risk"!

Thats the thing, I dont really wanna ship it back and wait for it to return in a month's time to find out that the supplier found nothing wrong with it.

Need to make sure...

And I know it might take out the rest of my components...but then I got an excuse to do a complete upgrade and finally leave AGP :D
