I got my iPhone last week Wednesday & the SIM was activated late that night...
Thursday & Friday everything ran smoothly... Friday I put a screen protector film on...
Saturday morning during a call my phone just died (it was fully charged). I managed to get it started using a hard reset... It happened again a couple of times.
Sunday morning I did some reading and it seems that some screen proctectors screw with the proximity sensor...
Sunday I did an update and it died again during the day... Got it working in the evening, but it died again during the night.
This morning I did a full restore on the phone (running iOS 4.1 now) Since just before 8 this morning it is still running...

Has anyone had similar problems?

It seems as if it is a known issue on some phones...

Wondering if I should take it back.... ??

If the screen protector is off and it still does it. Take the sucker back.... they should give you a new one. And remember you only get 7 days to return it from the date you got the phone @!%... sorry iPhone.

I would take it bakc ASAP - while your 7-day out of the box failure period applies

I'd be back there in a flash. Swap it out for sure.

Maybe you're holding it wrong :p

Just kidding bud, that really sucks and I hope you get it sorted...

And as everybody else has said, take it back asap!

What type of screen protector are you using? Might be a stupid question, but is it specifically cut for the iPhone 4 and not the iPhone 3GS?

It was a bumper and cover I bought from the iStore... can't recall the name now.

End of last week the phone started acting up every couple of hours or minutes.... Took it to the Vodacare in Canal Walk and it's in Jhb now... Waiting for a response from them

I seriously hope they replace the phone... Back on my Sony P1i now... Boy, do I miss the iPhone now :(

that 7day does not count with iPhones, i have tried it and they still send my phone in for repairs..
