Hmm I couldn't find a thread started on this game so....

I'm enjoying this at the mo, not your typical hack and slash zombie fest. Some of the bugs are annoying but other wise decent game. Oh and for those who have screen tearing, you can edit the video scr file which can be found under your documents profile/Dead Island/Settings. If you read the commented section, theres a item called Vsynch(). Just add that to the uncommented list and your tearing is much better.

Just a request, no spoilers guys. Otherwise how are folks finding the game?
 
Haven't played too much yet.

Some of those zombie bastards can sneak up on you. Its pretty fun doing all the different quests though.
 
I've only played a bit in the beginning so far but I'd have to say I'm disappointed. The graphics are shyte to say the least. I know it comes from consoles but come on. It looks like something from 2004. Left 4 dead looks far better even though it's a much older game.

Then there's the constant icons on the screen telling you what to do every step of the way (remembering controls its teh hard.) And the combat isn't remotely as fun as all the hype made it out to be. Just a terrible game overall. Out of all the +-854336 zombie games released recently, this isn't the one I'd pick.

I'm in Act 2 at the moment and still enjoying it. Dying becomes far more frequent the higher level you are

Really, I didn't think the graphics are exactly horrible. And yes, pressing "F" to do everything is extremely difficult to remember. I think its happened in every game and it should be gotten rid of. Every ladder should be usable not just the one they want you to use. But thats a problem in every game, even Deus Ex.
 
I don't think the graphics are bad at all.

I have just arrived at act 2 now. The only thing that gets to me is that you have to switch to a new weapon every time you throw another one. There should be like a few throwing weapons that can stack up. Even if its only like a stack of 10. That's what i thought there would be and so far i am quite disappointed. Much easier just to hit them in the face with a baseball bat.

Alone... and I chose the Sharp specialist :erm:

Getting swarmed by 5+ Infected generally results in having to use Fury or drop a Molotov and run away or die
 
I'm still on Act 1, 13% but I chose to be the big brother from the hood with blunt objects :D

Yesterday I made my ripper and let me say being on level 12, with full damage skill + stamina , I can take on relatively large groups. I find the trick is kick away, then swing. I get a bonus to force so quite often I'll swing and it'll actually bliksem the guy off his feet into the air. With the ripper it becomes a really huge bloody and gory mess: limbs flying, broken bones , decapitations :twisted:
 
Czc how far are you guys? I'm just worried about going co-op now in case I miss elements of the story/quests.

I like to chop of the thugs limbs.

I'm level 12. Archie played more than me he is lvl 24 :eek: Just did the petrol station trip where you collect juice.

Ahh, I'm there as well. I laughed so hard the one time as I was on those docks by the bungalows at the shore and I hit this one thug so hard, it knocked him off his feet and over the railing into the sea water.

Or in the famous words of Clear Skies: DING! DONG!
 
I like it when you chop off a leg but I've had bastards tackle me from the ground dammit.

My pet hate is infected. When they run at you and you kick them away, if there's more than one and they arrive at the same time, it can be a problem.

I wanna play, tired of cleanup at work.

The Infected just TEAR me apart. I just spam the kick button and prey that they fall on the floor.
 
Anyone know if the collectables can actually be read? Ie: the ID cards and the Banoi Chronicles? or are they just items to be collected?

Lol, it would be nice though if the Banoi Chronicles unlocked something though, like a timeline etc, all we have for now are the "recordings".

Am in the city now running around :D
 
How many skulls have you guys done? I have only managed the Blue one so far. Stumbled upon it by mistake and did some googling to find out wtf it was for.
