I got home yesterday to a dead phone line :(

At first cursing Telkom, but then I couldn't recall playing them this month and checked my payment history - and saw I paid last 30 June.

1) I always thought I'd get the voice message 'suspended'. Is this still the case? So do I log a fault?

2) I've paid - if that was the issue, do I just wait?

Phone Telkom accounts - nowhere near as bad as phoning Faults.

You mean you didn't received the automated calls to remind you that you are in arrears and have 7 days to pay? Nor the SMS's?

I don't have a phone? And no, no SMS.

You know forgetting to pay the phone bill once in a while isn't as huge of a sin as you think. Yes - I forgot and yes, I've paid. I'm asking whether they'd suspend and have the voice notification 'your line has been suspended; or whether they'd actually cut off. Or could this be a genuine fault.

My Telkom Android app isn't working either

EDIT : Accounts said not suspended ; so my worst nightmare ... a fault. But logging fault online was painless

Ya, try and avoid it being suspended though, its R250 to reconnect.

Also, if you find that for some reason you forgot to pay and you will not be able to pay at that moment, call them and tell them. They're very lenient when you've made an arrangement in advance (before they suspend you).

Yea - paid last night when I realised my oops.

I have a reference - post here ?

Excellent service - they were at my door within hours of me logging the fault. Problem is no one was at home ... And I suspect tomorrow is going to be the same as there is no way to reach them and they don't call me

RazedinBlack - is it possible to see exactly what they did under the reference number?

The reason I ask is that it was only 10 months back Northriding had the 20mpbs upgrade and I was persuaded to sign up by the promo guys. I used to sync at 20/1 and my real world was 17/800kbps. Things were fantastic.

Edit : In fact now it refuses to sync

Last night I see no dial tone and log the case. In a few hours the guys were at my door - but no one home so they couldn't get in.

However tonight I have dial tone again (so something was done) but syncing at 11/0.5. It's also taking forever to sync and when it does, it disconnects 5 minutes later

It can't be congestion or degrading of copper, as it was too sudden. Must be something they did that can be reversed?

Exactly what happened ; just arrived with no one available. Wasting their time :/
