I bought a car from a dealership in jhb.
Above the cost of my car there is
Delivery R0.0
On the road costs R 2506.77
Now I flew to JHB and fetched the car on the 21st September, when I got there I was informed the spare key/manual/service book was not there, it would have to be sent to me, this I was ok with as the car itself was fine and I had the main key.
I was also told that the personalized plates I had asked about had not been sorted out yet and I should do it myself in KZN. I was unhappy buy anyway had my new car.
I drove back with the temporary plate which was valid till the 12th Oct.
I went to try get a personalized plate, needed the eNatis document, decided too much of a schlep and just to get the dealer to do the normal plates for now.I emailed the salesman back and asked for this, he said he would sort it out. That was the last time I ever heard from him. On the 26th of Oct I phoned the dealership asking when they would be sorted out with the registration as my temporary permit had expired and I had heard nothing. The salesman was unavailable and another lady handled my query, she phoned me back saying she would courier down another temp plate that should arrive by 31 Oct and then she would get me registered or at least the eNatis document. I received none.
When phoning back on the 2nd November I had to talk to a 3rd person because the other two were unavailable. He promised to investigate the matter and call me back, never happened.
I phoned again this morning, got the lady again and she said she would investigate and phone me back, well I got an email back saying she has "requested URGENT response and assistance in obtaining my outstanding stuff, will get back to me in the morning".
I've now been very calm and waiting for a while now. I can't drive my new car around. After spending half a million on it I would like to be able to use it.
If by morning I haven't at least got a tracking number with a courier company that has my temp registration then I am going to insist I get my "On the road costs R 2506.77" back and I will do the damn registration myself when I get my copy of the eNatis document. This is the only way I can think of getting them to wake up and sort my stuff out.
I'm sure that they will argue that the R 2506.77 is broken into multiple costs but I'm sure most of it is registration.
