I have just lost a deal over bloody personalized plates - I hate the things and wish that people realized what retards they are when they have them on! 
We DO NOT do Personalized plates because of the hassle value, and how anyone thought that they could sort out ZN P Plates when they were in JHB is anybody's guess.
P Plates take approximately 3 weeks to sort out, plus a great deal of time which is totally lost to the salesperson, where he/she could actually be trying to sell cars, rather than slice through red tape.
All of that being said, this crowd did not charge you for the plates, as they would have been running at a loss at those OTR fees - the salesman sounds like a bit of a d ick, particularly due to the fact that he hasn't come back to you.
In future buy your cars in Durban, where we actually look after our clients (except get them P Plates) !!

Well... I walk into a dealership I ask them for what I want, if they say they will do it then I pay and expect it to be done, the behind the works scene is their deal, not mine. If they can't do it then they should say so.
