PS if you not interested or my threads bore you please don't respond to this thread please.

I have quick question why do car dealerships have different prices/quotes. I called Honda Rustenburg ask the lady the price for a spoiler, she said it's R1900. I called Honda Midrand, Centurion and Zambezi all three gave me the same price R1630. Early this year Honda Rustenburg told me it's R1630 now bit surprised its R1900 but other branches its still R1630.

My colleague just told me he has same problem with Toyota.

The same reason Pick n Pay and Checkers charge different prices for the same can of KOO Baked Beans?

It really helps when you realise that the dealerships don't all belong to Honda but to different companies:

Honda Sandton - North Motor Group
Honda Rivonia - Mekor
Hodna Midrand - Supermotorgroup Dealerships

etc

Pick N Pay and Checkers are different if not mistaken checkers fall under Shoprite group.

Okay I thought it's Honda South Africa with branches all over South Africa branches charge same price for parts and service.

Few Weeks ago I phone BMW Leo Haese for a price on Disks. They quote me +- R3200. So I start phoning a few other BMW dealerships. Cheapest I could get for the same OEM disks were R2000 @ Joburg City Auto - BMW.

Moral of the story, dont assume because its the same brand that all dealerships charge the same. Always phone around.

Could have true but I didn't wanna bring that elephant in here & derail the guy's thread here

Right, right. Good point. Let's get it back on topic...Shoprite was it? Or Checkers?

It's the same with all the brands, I called Williams Hunt about an engine mounting, was told it will cost me R4200, called Goldwagen and they said it's R700, Well, that's still expensive but better than R4200, I thought to myself, later during my lunch break I drive over to GW, arrive there and tell the guy what I am looking for, a couple of keyboard clicks later,
"we do have the mounting and it will cost you R283", imagine my confusion, the same part that cost R700 earlier on the phone is now R283? I took the mounting and got out of there quickly before they could change their mind.

I don't know but it seems the guys can manipulate the prices on the system and even print you a corresponding invoice.

Same thing happened when I got to Honda Rustenburg, I asked the lady about the prices difference she just smiled. Then she was busy searching on the system voila the accessory is priced R1670. I just kept quite I paid and left neitherless got a great service as usual from Honda.
