I know for many of you this will be general knowledge.....but for some it could be an eye opener.

We all know that our earth revolves around its own axis once every almost 24 hrs for day and night experience....and it takes 365 days to orbit the sun once.

Now while you sit or stand, picture both these earth movements in your mind....with you on it....while we travel at 108000km/h around the sun....simultaneously spinning at a speed of roughly 1600km/h.

It freaks out your mind

Gravity

Since we are spinning at such a ridiculous speed will centrifugal forces impact on gravity?

Will objects be heavier at the Poles than at the equator? :)

Erm, we were taught that in, like what, 5th grade?

Yes. But not only for the reasons you think.

Okay, rephrase, South Pole only. :p

I hope Replay doesn’t mind what I’ve done to his thread, being a Natural Science Topic. :o

I take it you've never watched a sunset, become aware of the earth rotating "backwards" with you on it or ever looked at the stars and realised your general insignificance beyond this tiny blue dot?

Life is tremendously unique; death is everywhere. Life is significantly more precious than superstitious garbage and brainwashed fealties.

I take it you and HDS have no bloody idea what my intention was with this thread...

All I know is that you've never been recruited as a mission specialist by the Russian space agency:/

No princess....go ahead..thread gone to schit anyway
Never posted this with the intention as breaking news...just a reminder of how brilliant this planet is, specifically its gravitational strength.
