And there is literally no way for you to prove other wise :) That is all. Oh also my friend who wanted to get iburst, well he's got adsl because you guys couldn't go do a signal test for him :)

WP, iburst is the WORST COMPANY EVAR! That is all.

I dont know about worst....

Maybe Neotel is damn close , but sure as hell Sentech(RIP) was THE worst lol. But they are so close to one another to be pea's in a pod.

Neotel is fighting very hard to claim the prize of being the worst telecoms company in SA. They really going for it hammer and tongs!

omw first it was constant disconnects and now Im throttled to 10kbps when I have 2.4gigs of cap. Jannie or Gcelebi or Ronald or whoever, I need to have open office by 7:30 tomorrow morning and seen as though I cant download it will one of you do so, copy it to a disk and drop it off at my house? You can ever deduct the bandwidth from my account that you use to download it. Ty

I think we should look at the postives! Iburst are helping in the war against piracy since you can't download anything :)

Agree, also brings ol' good forgotten dial-up back.

HAHA! The iBurst Conservation Program... dedicated to protecting the lesser-spotted dial up connection and ensuring STRICT population control of the dreaded profit killing broadband connection.

Cummon boys! Time to go bandwidth hunting! Bring out the coppers and DSL modems!

http://mybroadband.co.za/news/ADSL/11421.html... R499 pm for 384kbps uncapped and that includes line rental. Iburst are just completely useless. I'm so over them. They deserve to go under like sentech did and they will. It's just a matter of time

Edit: I started downloading open office when I made this thread. Its a 150MB file... finally 107MB's have downloaded but guess what. I just got disconnected and the download wont resume. How f'ing nice! I'll be expecting the bandwidth which I have just waisted to be returned to my account, also I would like my contract to be terminated by the end of this month(Ronald, Gcelebi, who do I talk to for this?) and NO I WONT be paying anything to terminate the contract, If you believe that I should I'll be to get my uncle/lawer :D to give you a call.

Peace, one love

That kills. iBurst system is outdated already. Need an upgrade to modems (2Mbit).

Mental-Tree, use download managers with support of queueing downloading and ability to download even if you was disconnected (it will say if it is supported or not).

I have to agree with all of the above, Ronald if you're reading this, please tell Henry who was supposed to call me back 2 days ago with the results of the triple bill investigation, that I am still waiting for his call. Your company is a disgrace. I also want out of my contract and I too am going the legal route. I have had enough!!!!

Something that is very clear with iBurst is that either you get absolutely shocking service (both I.T.O product and service departments) or you get good service. Your connection just works, almost 1mbs all the time, no disconnects and perfect billing every month...strange, isn't it?

I found a small bug recently... All depends on version/model of modem, even if they have same looks and type. Newer have 100% greater speeds than older (3 years old).

Well, I still use my grey modem from 2006, and if I place it on the sweet spot in my house...I get great speeds. But then again, I'm a very lucky guy ;)

I'm sorry but I have to disagree with that. I was on all three wireless options for a while and by far the worst was Neotel for just for the worst possible service followed by Iburst for being OK for a while but basically also **** and then Sentech who though bad actually delivered the product they stated to me for a few years with me only having to call them maybe twice a year as opposed to the three or four times a month I did with neotel or the once or twice a month with Iburst.

yeah . I have been on and off since beta days.
I have :
PCMCIA card ( Gathering dust atm )
Origional grey modem - Still in use by a friend
One of the newer modems - In use
A number of various antennae's
All of them bought for cash at the time.

If you want good latency and speeds then make sure you sort out your reception.

I think, in the 5 years I've been with iBurst I can speak from experience.
I tried to stick it out, to the bitter end, but at the end of the day I couldnt keep using my employer's ADSL to do downloads
So I canned it for one of Cybersmart's standard plain vanilla offerings.

Even a 384kbit ADSL circuit outperforms my entire iBurst experience over the last 2-3 years and now I can access sites I couldn't see since 2005 when I moved in with my then, fiancee.

With the power of hindsight I would have bitten the bullet all those years ago and opted rather to get ADSL.

I know this post is old BUT for those who consider to get ICursed:

I just have to tell the world this. I have a 2mb/s wireless account using a desktop modem. The package I sighed up for was a 1.5 gig caped service about 3 to 4 years back. I have relegated the usage of this to the wife and kids pretty much from the start since it is slow, unstable and unreliable and still is up to this day. Last week reached the cap for the first time. Could not log on to the website so phoned support. The less said about it the better. Eventually topped up and asked for a usage report. Very impressive since if I read it correctly sometimes it downloads 50 megs in 30 seconds as if that would ever happen as I have seen 56k dialups work faster. So the support person asks about the connection and then tells me I will never get the 2mb/s that I’m paying for because I’m not “in the zone”. Funny, they never mentioned that when I purchased the useless thing. She advises me to get an IBurst ADSL and on a side note informs me that for less than I’m paying for now I could get 10 gig instead of 1.5 gig but I must request it. Are you kidding me?

Now these same people are trying to sell a business solution to me for a wan. Is this comedy central? Being in IT I know of the communication problems and I know in SA it is not being the best but the least worst that counts but I have to ask how many fools like me are out there? Better question, how does ICursed even manage to exist?

One last thing. ICursed face book page use to allow posts. It doesn’t anymore and there is a reason for that.
