Deb Shinder is a well known Microsoft MVP who's husband works for Microsoft. Her comments are always fair, but maybe very Microsoft oriented, i.e. sometimes subjects ignored are as importent as those addressed.

This comment says so much about Sinofsky's Windows 8 decision making and, for me, explains the mess he has gotten Microsoft into. Commenting on his decision to exclude Windows Media Center (“WMC”), she says
With Sinofsky out of the picture, let's hope that Microsoft still has someone who is capable of looking at the whole picture, not just their little fiefdom.

according to Steven Sinofsky, only 7% of Windows 7 users ever launched WMC although those figures were based on one month – July 2011 – of statistics from “heavy users” in Russia, Mexico and Brazil.
