Debating whether to move to TM

Hi All

I'm currently on Afrihost mobile, and while I've been quite happy with them, it simply doesn't compete economically with Telkom's freeme packages.

My only concern ofcourse is if I'll have the same old issues weve all become accustomed to with Telkom.


I know that Telkom roams on MTN, so theoretically shouldnt have any issues, however I have some questions that I would appreciate some advice.

1. Can I permanently roam on MTN.
2. When Roaming, are MTN subscribers prioritized on their network .
3. Whats the TM coverage like in JHB.

1. Yes, 3G, but in rural areas MTN will be also 3G only.
2. Never heard of.
3. Very good, similar to other networks, but check on Telkom maps, they are conservative. also get TM prepaid SIM card, check yourself. Switch to SimSonke tariff.

TM can be congested in peak hours.
