Hi peep's

I have been trying with no luck to find a decent getaway from S.A for the xmas,new year period.

I cant believe it is impossible to go anywhere in December (Out of S.A) for less than R10 000pp??? WTF?

PS: Whats up with all these travel companies advertising these great deals but only valid for travel in OCT - NOV and Feb +.

Problem is I can only manage to getaway during December, so cant even postpone and save 3 times the amount to travel in Jan ect.

Anyone come across any great deals. What are you all doing over december?

Need a break - will not make it through another ............:(
 
I got a couple of good deals from my travel agent.. Much cheaper than flight centre etc.

Arent you leaving it a bit late planning ur Dec holiday out of SA now? you should hav tried booking in Jul/Aug already. prices are just going to keep going up the closer we get to Dec.

But try African encounters. Have used them a couple of times this year and they are reasonably priced.

Where are you planning on going to Holiday? Moz/ Zanzibar etc.
 
Natasha - which agent are you using?

Alisiaoh - Tried African encounters, nothing really great for December. Just want to get away,(not Dbn or CT) somewhere with a beach and those little umbrella's in drinks!

Have you tried www.getawaytravel.co.za?

Also Mozambique seems like a good place to go to. Have you tried to plan your own holiday? Always works out a lot cheaper.

BS. Im going to Mozambique from the 22de Dec to the 3de of Jan 2009 and it al is costing me +-R7000 :D

Going to Buleng (sp?) Anyway it might be because we are renting a 1 -sleep house, and the petrol/diesel for the two 4x4's are being split between 9 people....

How long are you looking to get away for? Are you married, children?
 
Careful on Inhaca Island Lodge...Drinks (even soft drinks and coffee) are wallet killers and watch those mozzies...

You could still try Mauritius but look for self catering options on the net in Mauritius (which are not advertised here) try areas around Grand Baie or even Mon Choisy and shopping is easy at the local supermarkets...You book your ticket direct on either Air Mauritius or SAA or Kulula/BA and the accommodation owners usually arrange airport transfers.
