Hi guys,

Looking for recommendations for area's in CPT that are decent to stay in for a couple of days.
Somewhere central as I'll be using Uber for beaches, vineyards etc. (if Oom Cyril says its okay)

Please and thank you

Budget? AirBNB or hotel or guest house or ........

Anywhere near the city center.

CBD, Sea Point, Green point, Mouille Point, Gardens, Oranjezicht, Vredehoek, Tamboerskloof.

Places in or near the city center can be pricey though.

Milnerton, Tableview, Tygervalley, Durbanbville (anywhere that is not inside the city itself <- gangs and crime)

Some really nice places near GreenPoint!
Thank you!

Sea Point, Green point, or Mouille Point will give you a spread of decent places from reasonable to super expensive.
what it won't give him is easy Uber access to vineyards, basically locked into the Constantia winelands only for which the City Siteseeing bus route is ideal, but the wines are generally not that impressive (imo)

Uber access to the Stellenbosch / Paarl vineyards is gonna be expensive wherever you stay.

Rentals will be (dirt) cheap still, as the (mainly white) foreigners can't come and play in cheap currency no more what with covid and travel bans.

So, many many places are empty, and prices have cratered.

What I'm trying to capitalize on by booking early

Expensive being how much? Might just rent a car then but what I've heard of CPT parking :/
An Uber from my house (Observatory - close to the city bowl) to Spier (Stellenbosch area - randomly chosen, not a winery I would visit) - R320 one way, according to the app. Or R434 to Babelonstoren (sort-of Franschhoek area) - that is worth a visit. Or R460 to Spice Route (Paarl area)

You can get a Polo for R385/day from Hertz (did not look any further than that, certain to be cheaper options)

The other thing to consider is that the wine farms are farms - they are spread out all over, and you'd need a dedicated Uber driver to visit more than one, else you'd get dropped of and never get another Uber in the area... and you'd have to pay for each trip between farms if you did eventually get one.

Beaches < =================> Vineyards.

You’ll need to choose one.
