Decent sound system for R5k?

I'll like to buy my parents a nice sound system. Budget is R5k.

That budget is a little low for a decent setup.
But you could get something like this which is a good starting point.

Think Game has the Samsung Component HT system on special this week or was it last week for R5500. Good starting point.

In that price bracket you're looking at Samsungs and Sonys. Just pop into HiFi Corp, browse whichever you feel you like overall, then head home, get online, and buy it cheaper. So extend your budget to R6k at HiFi Corp.

To be honest, it is unlikely that your folks are going to notice the difference between the various systems, nor care all that much. What you want is simplicity. So go hook it up for them, switch on auto-surround, set it to Dolby II Movie or DTS Movie and leave it be.

The nice thing about some of those systems (even the cheaper ones) is that they come with a mic for auto-calibration. Even the cheap ones work okay...
