Decoder not scanning

It's Saturday and I have the household on my back

After another loadshedding session the DSTV decoder doesn't scan anymore and I get the 8118 error. Naturally I Googlied the error and got here

I've tried the

Flash erase 8118 and Manual upgrade steps and it wasn't successful

So next will be a possible Capacitator replacement

Where can I get hold of these?

Just have a feeling MultiChoice will tell me to replace the decoder when I MIGHT not need to.

Nope... That is the PSU problem...

Yip...just bought a new decoder for R500. I could have searched for those capacitors but the decoder was outdated anyway and with the new ones if you have another problem after a spike one only have to replace the external power supply.

well it wasn't the LNB. New decoder works. was most probably 1 or more capacitors that went bye-bye

come Monday I shall be searching for surge protectors for all my appliances
router also gone...luckily I had spare, but this is insane.
Any advise will be welcomed specifically with regard to how many is needed. For example if I have 5 appliances on a multiplug do I only need one for the multiplug and will it protect all those appliances or how does it work?

Disconnect the satelite input connection and reconnect again. Reboot decoder. This worked for me after loadshedding
