There are quite a few different dedicated server providers - each one specialising in certain key areas of the industry (managed, unmanaged, low-end, high-end, low bandwidth, high bandwidth, mission - critical to specialised application hosting etc).
You should also decide on the operating system and who will handle the server administration (yourself or them) - be sure to make enquiries with them concerning that if you expect them to handle it.
