I gave Deezer a go yesterday, and I love it. Still using the trail version and the Flow function is helping me discover all my old favourites.

Anyone using it? How do you find it?

Anyone trying something else? How does it compare to Deezer on pricing and functionality?

I have a subscription and love it, i used to be on Spotify but i found Deezer to be much more of what i needed because of the local content and the fact that it's officially supported in South Africa (Spotify is a US service). Overall i don't see myself cancelling my subscription anytime soon, all my devices have it and i simply sync all my playlists for offline listerning. However i did find Spotify's version of flow better at helping me discover new music but it's no big deal

Yeh, looking at it now... can't seem to find new stuff easily. Going by category not really helping me out.

The flow algorithm kind of improves with time , the more you listen the better it gets. But still I found Spotify got that part better though the limited selection of local tracks downplays it

Any one of you using the Deezer app for Samsung Smart TV's?

Seems as though my TV has a limited amount of Favourite Artists/Albums it can store, so anything I add simply does not appear. The same problem does not occur on other smart devices i.e. Phone and Tablet

However if I add songs to playlists on the other smart devices, they do appear on the TV in the playlists.

The smart TV apps suck. Not just deezer, but anything else I've wanted to try. My next TV needs to have something like Android TV or similar.

I'm thinking of getting Chromecast, but would love to know if the problem would be solved

I've used Deezer with Chromecast and it works fine. I prefer Rdio though. Last time I've tried Deezer's Flow it played the same playlist over and over again.

If you start liking and favouriting songs your home will get customized to the genres you like. Then when new stuff gets released you'll see it on your personalized home with "new" above it.

Also when you go to an artist page there's a section called "similar artists".

Deezer is by far the most used app on my phone. I love the off line syncing feature for when I'm at the gym or bad signal area. Now that I've liked and favourited enough artists and albums I never miss new releases.

My phone came with a free year of Simfy, but it just doesn't compare.

I also love the "Stateeztics" section of Deezer. Some cool stats are there and you can have "coolness" wars with friends there too if you added them.

Flow gets better the more songs and artists and you like/favourite.

I use Simfy rather than Deezer. It's much, much cheaper (thanks to promos that are regularly run) and has an interface I prefer. I tried out a Deezer trial and stopped using it after a few minutes. I find that web interface hard as hell to use and hard on the eyes.

Windows 10 windows Metro apps, so perhaps that Deezer Metro app will improve the situation when Windows 10 is out.

Nothing wrong with the web interface imo. Beautiful app as well on android. Downloading the windows 10 app now on desktop...

I personally use Rdio. Very good service apart from the Android and iOS apps (and even sometimes the Web interface) being buggy on occasion.

Using Google Play Music. Upgraded my Google account to a US one using this --> http://www.androidbeat.com/2014/03/access-usa-google-play-country-proxies-vpn-necessary/. Used a NYBox forwarding address. Using the trial currently but will see if I can get it for $7.99 (Youtube Music Key Special). Tried them all including Simfy, Deezer etc. and the sound quality of Play Music is amazing. The ability to effortlessly add your own music is great. Deleted all my own uploaded songs and will now only upload the albums that they do not have. There is even afrikaans music like F*kofpolisiekar ens. and Taylor Swift for the SO.

Also upgraded my MS account to a US one and will trial Xbox Music as well but with 192kbps wma I don't have high hopes. Also don't like that you will have to add your own music to onedrive. Will see how that works when they add the functionality.

With Google Play you can set the default CC so can change that to an SA one. Also allows you to get a Google Voice number etc.

Can't believe Spotify is so popular. Even if you are a premium user the web app will only stream at 160kbps. Deezer also streams some music at only 128kbps going by this thread --> http://www.head-fi.org/t/688383/deezer-vs-spotify-bitrate-sound-quality.
