Anyone noticed, the visual is 10 sec later than the audio?

I switched on the radio and had listening to SAfm and I had watching the live match on SABC1 in the same time, what I were watching and what I were listening, had 10 sec delay.

Try for next matches and find out yourself, is that true? :D

The radio signal travels faster than the tv signal, my guess

Even so, regarding the TV audio, it never happened before with any other broadcast - local or international.

Yeah DreamKing - experienced it for most parts of the game. Blerry frustrating.

There we are watching the game and the commentator tunes that the shot's gone wide and I'm like :wtf: and then it happens on screen a few seconds later.

There were times when it was corrected, but then it FUBAR'd again.
Hope the SABC gets their act together

And I thought the reason was because I was watching SABC1 via TopTV and audio via SAfm.

Even the commentary FROM the TV was out of sync. There were a few moments where the commentator said "Khune!", and they hadn't even taken the shot yet :erm:

Yep, serious synching problems all round.

But, what do you think of the quality of the English commentary?
I thought it was pretty good, loaded with facts and dribble and plenty of excitement at the right moments.

But, the vuvuzela drone ... seriously ... mute it.

This is the one of the biggest televised events and they can't get it right with all the time and money in the world. Just pathetic.

@Brawler I am sure this is just a small glitch don't be too quick to jump on your high horse. I know that in the USA after the Janet J boob incident a 5 second delay has become the standard for major live events. I am sure if the out of sync was a genuine glitch it will be sorted out by day 2.

Why is South Africans so negative & always ready to find fault? Bafana played a inspiring match and then the likes of you guys need to nit pick about a relatively small issue geez.

1st everybody said the stadiums will never be done in time then security and Gods knows what else. Just this once can all you neigh sayers just SHUT UP & enjoy the game or switch off and go moan somewhere else

Some people really are tw@ts.

FEEL IT ! IT IS HERE & Africa is doing what the world thought we never could.

I AM A AFRICAN & PROUD of the job done do far & I am sure we will continue doing the business despite all the twats.

sorry, can't agree with you. Your attitude is WRONG.

WRONG is WRONG, nothing "because of something" that makes it RIGHT.

I think its a Fifa glitch.
The last world cup was the same... Is was like the commentator knew what was gonna happen before it even happened!

@Dreamking

The TV broadcast is handled and controlled by HBS and relayed from the stadium to the IBC in JoBurg via two separate feeds to ensure zero downtime.

The SABC will have a separate radio feed via their own local network.

Hence the synch issue.

Radio2000 is the local official radio broadcaster....

as a USER, do I need to understand HOW that works?

Only I know is "SABC did not do well for the broadcasting."

If he was watching on TV but listening to the radio then he seriously needs a lesson in wording sentences. With TV broadcasts, especially international ones, a 6 second or more delay is built in to allow broadcasters to take action if something happens like a streaker, break in the network or a recent example would be Eduardo's broken leg. The time is built in so that the network can quickly go to an ad break or show a highlight because if a 6 year old see's a naked streaker or a leg bent at 90 degrees the network could face some big lawsuits and no-one wants that.

You guys getting all pissed over a 10 second delay? How about you don't turn on the radio and then you'll never notice it!
