Hi all,

My client has this folder, and within that folder are many, many sub folders, and they have sub folders etc. The folders consist of image files ( he is a real estate agent ), .pdf's, scan files etc etc

Now for some reason, all the files in all these folders, have duplicates of themselves.

Example:

image.img
image.img(2)

picture.pdf
picture.pdf(2)

All the original files have duplicates of themselves with the (2) at the end. Name of file is exactly the same, just has the (2) at the end of each original file.

What I need to do:

I need to delete all the files which have the (2) at the end of them. But these are many, many files. Deleting one by one is taking forever.

What I need:

Is there perhaps a 3rd party program or something that finds ALL files with the (2) at the end in a certain folder and deletes them all?

If anyone could help that would be great.

OS: Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit

Thank you

You could use total commander to find the duplicates and delete those. I think ccleaner also deletes these

Search for this in Windows Explorer:

name:~"*(2)*"

Tried that, didn't exactly do what I wanted ( Unless I'm missing something )

It shows everything with a 2 in it. Even files named let's say 2.com

That makes no sense. I just tested it and it works perfectly. Are you sure you copied the search query exactly as I provided it?

My apologies. Yes it works. Thank you so much my friend.

I used Bryn's technique. Thank you to everyone who replied and helped me.

Thank you.
