Dell Vostro 3550 bios recovery / rescue solution

Hi guys,

Bricked Dell Vostro 3550. Machine was acting weird before a failed BIOS FLASH.

All online solutions for other Dell notebook models come up empty when tried on this model. Lots of confusing info out there.

I did manage to extract the ROM and HDR files from a new BIOS executable.

What I need is somebody with a definitive guide on the factory recovery / rescue key combos etc needed to try a recovery.

Are there any local guys who can take the chip out and reflash it?

Quick update for future reference. Scouted around for new motherboard for the laptop. Cheapest option (more than 50% cheaper than anybody else) was Dell themselves. Phoned support service. New board was here with a technician in a couple of days instead of the expected two weeks (board was shipped from overseas) they indicated on the order... Well done DELL!

All up and running.
