Basically, it's impossible for me to get any games because the local guys all have pirated copies and the international guys won't play with me due to my high ping.

Anyone knows where I can get a standalone patch?
LOLz Played it at a LAN this weekend and OMG it's awesome!
But 4 of us where playing against the AI but the game was a bit slow so we upped the game speed to fast... we played for a good while but then suddenly the game started getting terribly out of sync, and I mean terribly, coz one guys game was done already but the rest was still playing... that kind of terrible.

You need to own the original in order to be able to patch your game.

I tried some pantheon games out, where people don't really have the option to kick you because of your latency, and yeah, it was incredibly laggy Playable, but a lag stutter every 2 seconds to resync.
Great game though.

I unfortunalty formatted my pc over last weekend and now even though I copied Demigod away and restored it and loaded Impulse my game state still stays at Install and not play.
I can however play the game but unable to update.
BTW me and a friend tried Demigod over Gameranger and for some reason cant see each others games. His game launches just fine but when mine launches via Gamerange not even the backround laods up , I can see menus but its heavy slow.
Dunno if it my connection ? might even be.
If you want we can test Leaf ? Idea ?

You could also try out LAN bridger if you want to play on with local cap only
I have only managed to play single player because I too can’t find any locals to play with.
The game is "ok", I am a huge DOTA fan and this just doesn’t really cut it. Not enough hero’s to choose from, game gets way to messy, hard to identify friend from foe, creep from hero.
Personally I think it is a poor attempt to copy DOTA. The hero abilities are also very average, the items too, as far as I know there are no recipes to make items, you just buy random stuff.
I think where it fails mostly is the big bells and whistles rather than simplicity. As complex as DOTA is, once you get it it is a really simple game. Demigod just seems to try and go overboard on everything.
I am not sold, but I haven’t written it off just yet, I would like to play with some humans first and see.

It's an app that allows peer to peer play without using the proper ingame multiplayer.Like xfire...Me thinks.

I liked dota, was quite into at one stage. But then o got over it 
Demigod is really awesome, to me it has a lot more depth, maybe not as many items as dota. The heroes have more skills to choose from & there's deffirent ways to play with them, depending on who you're up against. The cool thing is that you only need 3-4 games to get into it. So you go to a lan, after a couple of games the ppl who haven't played it before start to become a challenge. Dota, that takes months of practice to become good. Kinda why you have people who only play dota at lans, and people who play everything except dota at lans...
