Hi guys,

I am releasing a friends album for free via the internet. There are approx. already 1000 subscribers on the pre-signup newsletter. The WAV version is about 900mb and the MP3 about 150mb. I have an account at Hetzner but I am sure they won't be pleased with the sudden strain on their server.

What is the best way to share the files? There will be a torrent as well, but need a primary way that will be easy for end-users.

Hope it launches your carreer. Let me know when I can get - will give you an unbiased and honest opinion.

Host the files on a free / trial CDN, or signup for Amazon EC2

Looking around, AMAZON's offering isn't bad though users who know more can respond but fantastic just from looking at it :D.

Good luck on the launch.

Amazon AWS free trial

:)

/ahh, As said above, Amazon EC2 [looks for more info]

Try bandcamp or cdbaby.

You can even make it donation based on bandcamp, so it's free unless people want to contribute something.

With regards to EC2 it says:

15 GB of bandwidth out aggregated across all AWS services

But if the WAV is roughly 900MB x say 100 downloads even, that's already 90gb of data?

Why not just make a torrent of it and get a seedbox?

There will be a torrent option. I have a seedbox ready too. But there needs to be another way for end-user to download as well :)

I can host in France if you like. Buy me a beer sometime! ;)

4x Dedi's with 1GB uplink each and uncapped bandwidth.

Let me know if you'd be interested.

I won't even charge - maybe just some recognition somewhere :P

I can also add to a seedbox thats online 24/7 with 1GB uplink.

Let me know if you'd be interested.

Thanks. Will send you a PM. I think we're going to go the Google Drive route - you can create a direct link to the download and then a bitly URL. Anyone think this is a bad idea?
