I hope this is not inappropriate.

I thought I'd use my notebook mainly for travelling and working away from the office, but it has become my main computer and made my PC pretty much redundant.

AthlonXP 2400+ Thoroughbred 2GHz
Gigabyte GA-7VT600-1394 board (firewire, USB2, network)
1GB DDR400 memory
Gigabyte Radeon 9250 128MB
1x Seagate 200GB SATA disc
1x LG DVDRW
1x LG CD-RW
TV tuner card
Stiffy drive
Black box with decent cooling and fairly quiet
Gigabyte 350W PSU
LG 910B monitor (19" good for 2048x1536, new in Dec 2005)
HP Deskjet 610C, recently serviced, with fairly new black cartrige
and two spare black cart.
Black keyboard and Genius Optical Mouse
Computer stand

Asking R4000

All hardware is Linux compatible. Windows XP loaded but license *not* included. I'll leave it on - license is your business although I can supply at cost.

No cheap-o components, every component was selected based on reputation for quality, stability and performance. The R4000 PCs you buy at Game does note compare with this.

P.M. me if you're interested. I can send you a photo on request.

okay thats great if you think so, next time you upgrade you can drop off your old hardware at my house, im really close to you. :D

Personaly I dont agree, pick up a Cape Ads and phone some of the hardware deals you think look good, they will be sold.

if you sell that pc for 3k your a bit dof :)

19" is worth like 700 alone

junkmail.co.za if you in jhb or pta

killaboob, I had my first ad in the junkmail for R6000, and over the course of three months I've come down three thousand, because the handfull of calls I got were all scammers.

People think because they can buy a new "Intel 2.4GHz" PC at Game (a piece of junk Celeron) for R3000, a secondhand PC for anything more must be a rip-off.

But like my original post showed - all quality hardware, most of them top of the range when they were bought, and lots of bells and whistles.

I ended up selling it for R3200 - sad sad....
