Hi
I have a Hauwei E620 Vodafone data card and want to use it on my desktop pc. I have a PCI 1410 Cardbus controller PCMIA adaptor. My problem is that when I connect to the www using this data card in my desktop pc it locks up after a few minutes. My OS is windows xp pro version 2002 service pack 2. The data card works fine in my acer 4272 wlmi laptop. No locking. Please help me urgently.

What make & model is it? - 1410 is AFAIK a Texas Instruments chipset also used in the Elan PIII, but I don't know if that means that the PCMCIA <--> PCI adapter card you have supports 32 bit PCMCIA cards.

The [post=798892]problem might be your desktop PC's BIOS &| chipset...[/post]

Agree with ic, who seems to be always Inherently Correct in his analysis.....

The PCI->PCMCIA adapter card are notoriously finicky to get working, so I first would look here.

Make sure your BIOS is at the latest level and the latest USB patches are loaded for your motherboard.

You might want to try a adapter card based on the Ricoh chip-set.
