Im pretty stupid when it comes to things about computers.
i know a little bit but this is just beyond me i dont know if its a hardware problem software problem or what.

But i reformatted and reinstalled Windows xp Home SP2 due to virus problem, sumhow got a virus and it $#@^#@ over my computer and i wasnt able to access internet, download nearly anything, or even system restore... so i reinstalled the windows and thought that i will just start all over again,

but wen i tried to set up internet nothing would work...still... i went to device manager and said that everything was working except: Ethernet Controller, Multimedia Audio Controller, RAID Controller, RAID Controller.

They all show yellow bubble with exclamation mark in them and i try update, reinstall and watever but i cant cause no internet... i have no othr CDs other than the windows xp home SP2 disk.

i know my computer works with my internet cause it was working... before the virus.
i dont know much about the desktop because my dad is the person who gave it to me and always messed with it.

Seems like you have a driver problem atm.

Do you have fixed line internet (i.e adsl, dailup)?,if so you will first need to get a driver for the ethernet card/modem from someone, and when your internet is working again, you can download all the other drivers. Some pc repair shops arent too bad with pricing irt driver fixing (was about r250 from here last i checked). Or just ask a friend to download the ethernet/modem driver for you.

AND REMEMBER : --always-- backup (to cd/dvd/flash) your pc/laptop drivers. We all had to learn the hard way!

Good luck

Your problem is drivers. And if you have no discs for your computer (desktop or laptop) you probably don't know what kind of hardware it is using. Hardware = the chips inside. Hopefully your USB ports should still work. if that is the case then at least that makes things a lot easier.
Download a program called CPU-Z or CPUid which can help with indetifying your hardware.

Depending on what kind of internet connection you use, you offcourse need to connect to internet (from somewhere). Either with your own USB internet or at friend's place.

Identify your hardware/chaps. You can use CPU-Z, or if it is a desktop computer, look at the model numbers on the actual motherbord, If it is a custom motherbord, you bought the PC at shop around the corner, then just look for the motherbord's manfufacturer and model namuber which are usually printed somewhere on the bord or look for chip numbers. write them down and google them by typing the chip number plus the word 'driver'. For instance if your board has (example) printed on GigaByte GA-23K-SL, then just goolgle the full name and model number or simply go to Gigabyte website, under search type in the model number and download the chipset and LAN network drivers, and if there is on-board video card also video drivers. the files are usually self executing. If the video card is one that slots in, look on the chip for manufacturer name (Intel, nVidia, S3, ATI, etc) and google the card manufacturer plus model number.

If you have Intel hardware, on your own machine simply google "Intel driver utility". On Intel website it would then automatically detect if you have Intel hardware and suggest the appropriate driver download. Download and install as required.

If you don't know where to find driver software, always look for a FCC ID number (United States "Federal Comunication Commission" number), or model number either on the device or on the chips. For more accurate results in Google, always add the word driver as part of the search phrase. The same goes for any other piece of computer or electronic/electric hardware.

Once you have identified your hardware, go and download the drivers onto USB (at your friend's). Install the driver software on your machine as required.
You can download a 100% free anti-virus program from http://free.grisoft.com Just because it's free doesn't mean it's crap. I've been using it for more than 8 years and NEVER had a virus problem.

Once you have downloaded and installed all drivers. Remember to:
Keep your anti-virus (auto) updated
Download all the latest patches and Windows updates. kepp your Windows updated. Use Windows update. If you don't know how to use Windows Update, just type Windows Update into Google.
Install Windows XP Service Pack 3.
Keep backups of your important files/pictures/music, whatever.

Google is your friend. You may pray, but Google always answers.
