UCT should have nipped this in the bud when it started.

Now all over the country, statues are being vandalised.

The vote on the 8th must be for it to stay, so as to prove that race shouldn't affect education. That the actions of a few imbeciles on a campus can cause such a stir countrywide, so as to destroy the country's heritage (colonial or otherwise) should not become commonplace. But we all know that UCT will roll over and take it like cowards.

Agreed, anything other than a vote for the statue to remain is giving in to this behaviour which will only make them demand more and more.

I felt quite disgusted when this statue got vandalized.
The people doing the vandalizing literally have 0 idea what they're doing or what the statues they are destroying are commemorating.

Unfortunately academia is brimming with brimming with left-wing types who like the smell of a revolution (see how the Senate capitulated by 181-1 to vote for the COMPLETE REMOVAL of the statue). I've already counted 6/30 Council members who will definitely be voting for complete removal, given that either they or their organisation have stated their position publicly.
 
Can these people not do anything grand they want to erect statues about? Just break stuff down?

It's like the student leader of this "Remove Rhodes Statue" group. He said they must "subvert white supremacy", not disprove it, but subvert it, which means he says it's a thing that is real.

It needs to be real for him to build his political career on.

Whether it really is real, is actually irrelevant now.
 
I don't like Afriform...they sometimes say the silliest things, but I agree with them on this issue.

What's the point in trying to erase history? We also have a history in SA and we should be allowed to build on that, not break it all down.

Build new monuments and put up new statues. Leave the ones we have alone.
 
Next is churches. Libraries, schools(oh wait they have done that already.) Soup kitchens must go.
White charities must be banned. No more white handouts.
Tell the white people that they must stop paying taxes as they do not want white money.
No more domestic workers.
