Diablo 3 comming in 2007

err...2007 ?? That article is like dating from 2006 and the guy is speculating like crazy. Blizzard only said they have product announcements in 2007 [obviously they will] , then the dude go and pull the dam from under the duck and "guess" Diablo3 is being >>released<< in 2007 ? If they didn't announce anything by now it's probably not coming out in 2007 .

They might actually "announce" Diablo 3 , probably for release in 2008+ . I'm sure they won't pass the chance up to get this out on Xbox/Ps3 or some next gen console....so 2007 sounds bit early for that.

Not really, listen up for some sort of statement from BlizzCon later this month as there could be official announcements in regards to Diablo 3 & Starcraft 2.

no the weird thing here is that there is no news about a diablo3 on www.blizzard.com normaly when they busy with a new game it shows there.:confused:
 
only when they announce it they will show there...so only after Blizcon we will know what's up...Maybe announcement of both games?
 
Yea but still, there's a diff between "announcing the release" and "releasing" a game.
When Blizzard "announce" a game, then they start one massive campaign of stuff like previews,demos and betas and all that.

Diablo 2 was "announced for release" in a specific year, how long did it take to -actually- release? anyone? I'm sure everyone remembers how long it took to come out...2 years after "announced" ?

I bet you've never had regrets though. I would forgive Blizzard for not releasing games on time in return for a great experience. SC and Diablo has been my fav of all time and I bet mostly due to their reluctance to release a semi complete game full of bugs and glitches.

Well, exactly. That's why i can't imagine Diablo 3 being RELEASED in 2007. That means they have less than 9 months to get it to work perfectly on PC** , and to do all the usually marketing they do before releasing a game. Even WoW had at least a year of "teasing" going on.

** And probably on Xbox360+PS3 too. I would be surprised if this isn't released on a console in some form.
 
Well i highly doubt blizzard would leave such a small window for D3 to be announced in.

A big part of any major studio title(and most games) is to get the word out and the hype up.
Look at games like hellgate london, stalker, fear, doom3. The marketing and hype buildup was so long that by the time the games were released ppl were so inundated with buzz about the game that a sale was 99% higher than if the game was announced and released in a couple of months.

Remember marketing and hype makes and breaks a lot of games.

My way of doing things is to voice my opinion, but in a more diplomatic way. ;)

Example,

I think all strategy games are horrific and boring, e.g StarCraft, WarCraft, Age of Empire Games, Rome Total War, Command and Conquer, and what not.

Not my kinda game, BUT it doesn't mean the games are bad at all. We know games like C&C, WarCraft and StarCraft are actually bloody good, but I get sick with the mere thought of playing them.

You say WoW isnt decent or warcraft3... but you didn't state that those games are not your genre of interest.

World of Warcraft on the other hand, ive been playing for 2 years. Love the game. Moved over to EU, and chucked away my 60 on US cause of unfortunate time zone we live in. (Yeah, I know, I shoudve started EU in the first place)

Just saying, you can only say something is crap if its failed and nobody is watching it or playing it at all :) Like the Sentech service.

On another note:
BlizzCon 2007 was announced, chances are high StarCraft 2 or Diablo 3 will be announced at the event being held later this year in the US

Yeah a new dugeon keeper would be awesome.....oh the fun of slapping your minions around! Not to mention the site when Horny rocks up!
