Hi guys, I want to buy myself Diablo 3 but not sure if it would be playable on my laptop?

I have a Sony Vaio FW 560, specs are as follow:
Processor: 2.1GHz Intel Core 2 Duo P7450
Memory: 6GB, DDR2 800MHz
Hard drive: 500GB 5,400rpm
Chipset: Mobile Intel PM45 Express
Graphics: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650, 512MB
Operating system: Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit)

I havnt been gaming for about 2 years and therefore a bit outdated with the current specs and requirements.

By playable, I mean no lagging and at a decent resolution. I do not have to have all eye candy enabled.

thanks in advance.

It should run fine. You have quite a few graphics settings you can turn down if it stutters.

Agreed. As long as you don't have that junk Intel GMA graphics card, the game is designed to run on quite reasonable hardware.

Don't buy it, what a crappy game! Rather keep the memory of how good you think it will be and play with that :D

I also enjoyed Diablo 2 and expected 3 to be a step up. It's not. Took me 15 hours or so to finish and tbh there's not much to do after that. No real reason to farm items since you can just buy the best stuff off the auction house.

It's entertaining enough the first play through, but you soon realize just how shallow the RPG elements are.
Check the user score http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/diablo-iii

It's not a terrible game, but it's not a good game either.

Took me 15 hours or so to finish
Sure you did

From what I've read it basically boils down to a few of the following reasons
"I dont like the game because"
a) I dont like farming for gear
b) I dont have hours upon hours to farm for gear, and therefore I "need" to use the AH
c) Always online requirement

If those dont bother you, chances are you'll enjoy D3

Archer I was referring to finishing it on normal. I think the first guy finished it in something like 12 hours and there's speed runs of 1 hour. I did add "or so" because I didn't time myself. It was, however, very quick.

It's obvious you like the game, so just say so. No need to be all subversive trying to attack me to make your point. Shallow RPG elements does not fall under your a-b-c list, so complexly it's not as simple as that. A good game does not get 3.9 on Metacritic. User score on Gamespot is 7.3 and I completely agree with that. It's not terrible, it's just not that good.

It's an insanely polished game that has bland mechanics. There's not 1 innovative game play mechanism in Diablo 3; if anything it's dumbed down.

Sure you did

No need to be subversive and lie about finishing the game to make your point either  The hypocrisy of your post is hilarious.

Besides that, I did in fact give the 3 most vaunted reasons for people who say they dont like/quit/didnt buy D3. Which is valueable to the OP. For the most part, if you liked D2, and dont mind those three points, chances are, like I've already said, you'll enjoy D3.

Really guy, just stop.
http://gaming.stackexchange.com/que...rage-time-to-finish-diablo-iii-in-normal-mode

This guy's wife is a casual gamer and did it in 20hours.
"@MichelAyres 7-8 hours for normal is fast. 10-12 would be a typical range."

15 hours is not a lot to finish normal mode. Maybe you took longer because you are "special" :D
I said exactly why I think it was not a good game. It's an opinion, and one that I substantiated. Don't get all personal just because you like the game and I don't. Release the cave troll! And there goes archer :)

Edit: This is a very well presented commentary in 3 parts http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u8CBbeSAjVo

Is normal the whole game? No. That should really be the end of this argument

They finished normal, not the whole game... So your point is what again?

Oh look, resorting to thinly veiled insults  How sad

Yes, and I gave my opinion of the game, as well as pointing out your lies. Why else would you claim "the whole game takes 15 hours" if not to try and make the OP think the game is bad. D2 normal mode took the same time to complete. So if we are judging the game on that metric, they are one and the same

Lol Archer! My not-so-veiled insult was obviously said in sarcasm. I said it took me 15 hours to finish normal and you outright called me a liar. So I brought up proof that it's a fairly typical time to do so. Then you ignore all that has been said and claim that normal isn't the entire game. Well good sir, you certainly won't win any award in debate any time soon, but I'll indulge you.

Normal *is* the entire game. The other difficulties are just a repeat. I played until Act2 in inferno hoping that something new would pop up, and it never did. There's no new mechanics. Watch the video. Please. Just do it guy, all the cool kids are doing it! :>

Except you didnt say that... You said you finished the game. The game != normal mode

Normal is essentially the first run through of the campaign, of the story. It is not the whole game. Guess what, D2 was the same!! So we are back to this silly argument where D2 took x hours to "finish" and so did D3. Which makes it an irrelevant metric if you enjoyed D2.
Nothing new popped up you say? You didnt notice the laser beams on the floor after monsters hit level 31? Or invulnerable minions at 51? Etc... Nevermind, that if we again go back to D2... its the same thing again. "No" new mechanics yada yada. So yet another irrelevant metric if you enjoyed D2.

I couldnt care less if you do/dont like the game. But if its truly for the above reasons, then I think thats a bit silly because D2 was the very similar. If it was because you dont like the AH, or whatever else that is genuinely different from D2, sure, thats useful information to the OP.

"Archer I was referring to finishing it on normal." And you responded, "No need to be subversive and lie about finishing the game to make your point". Ooo burn, anyway! I'm not going to bother responding to you further. Flame wars with teens is not my forte.

It plays fine on my laptop which has a HD5730. Should be ok on your laptop, maybe at lower detail.

It doesnt look like you grasp the concept of sequence of events. You started with an omission, and clarified afterwards, while being a hypocrite calling me subversive (for who knows what really), for which I called you out for. Why clarify only afterwards if you were not being subversive in any manner. It would seem you do not know what hypocrisy is either (nevermind how you try to insult me again by calling me a teenager, that was truly funny)

To get back to the topic, Yes OP your laptop should run the game just fine on medium settings
