I think it will always have a loyal (albeit small) fanbase but whether Blizzard continues to support and/or maintain servers remains to be seen.

Given some of the recent reviews pointing to D4 being aimed at being a successor to D2 rather than D3 I suspect those that were never big D2 fans to begin with might stick with D3.

I don't see them assigning too much in the way of dev resources to make subsequent seasons as feature filled. At least not initially after D4's release.

Seasons will likely live on in D3 as ladders I think.

Mind you, given the state of Blizzard's internal issues they may just drop it entirely to focus on D4 and Immortal.

I don't want to rush through the storyline - blizzard has announced that Season 1 will commence about 10 days after launch so hopefully that incentivises others to not rush either.

I did the cheapest possible, 60 pounds. Lots for a game indeed, but I think about how many hours I got out of d3 and it'll be worth it if D4 has even half the replayability
