Here's more weirdness, looks like he's on PC using KB/M:


Pretty well explained with examples (relevant bits at 3:40). At 7:50 he basically confirms my feelings towards dodge, getting hit all the time vs. movement skills like teleport.
 
How do you target a specific enemy with something like twisted blades with a controller?
 
Btw... one can also just self gift card or add eur to your blizzard account till you have enough euros to buy it. That's one way of saving up for it.

I'm not putting my faith in this. I'm more of thought it isn't going to happen for GP. At least with GP you can never loose on the sub as it always roi.
 
Anyone have a PS5 experience? Would be good to know how that played out.

I was fighting a boss and it felt like I was being hit even though I evaded out of the swing range.
I want to blame lag rather than poor hit boxes. I hope 200ms+ ping won't be an issue to play this game.

I also hope the end game zone has the chest and smith closer together.
 
Felt similar to me, but I'd like to think that it was due to the enormous stress the servers were under, and predictive latency causing hits to register which shouldn't.

I played on PS5 and it felt fine, except for the weird janky delays. Good news at least is that it's not specific to one platform so we can hope it's addressed by launch. Having played a ton of D3 from SA, latency should really not be an issue in D4.
 
Diablo IV is build around being a mmo, how it works compared to Diablo3 is very different. In Diablo3 you would only get delay when gold/items dropped, combat was largely unaffected if you played singleplayer. Only had to sync with enemies/skills/animations when in coop.

In Diablo IV EVERYTHING happens on server, so there is no way to get super smooth gameplay without having South African servers this time around.

I didn't experience lag this weekend apart from beta type stuff. The odd rubberband here and there

There is no inherent latency to the EU servers.

If you want to experience what real latency is then try an online game of D2R

Not true.
D3 was ALWAYS server based. Your animation was managed locally but all the combat/hits was done on the server. Even in single player.

It's an adjustment.

I played with the controller and KB/M on the PC

After it appeared that my PC was not up to scratch (either the PC is too old or the client is still a bit buggy) I switched to the XBox S and was pleasantly surprised at how much smoother the experience was compared to the PC. What I might do is see if I can get an old wireless KB/M hooked up to the XBox then I'll buy it on Xbox and get the best of both worlds (in-game text chat would be impossible without a KB/M - even though text chat is outdated, it does have its place for late night gaming in the room next to your bedroom - wife irritation factor....)

Also noticed that it runs smooth as butter on the Xbox, swear I had less server lag on the Xbox as well. I'm in two minds now, get it on pc or on Xbox?

As long as you dont do it AJ style.

I can has Diablo 3 on PS3, PC, Nintendo Switch and Xbox.
Digital: Xbox & Nintendo Switch
Physical: PS3 & PC

On the brighter side: at least I will be able to play the PS3 version loooooong after the servers been shut down. :D
