Diablo II: Resurrected

I had diablo 2 but was a bit young so I clocked it and thought it was basically finished.
End game of diablo 2 is to kill the same bosses over and over in the campaign and hope for better loot?

Played through the first 2 Acts (the only 2 available for now).

It is buggy. No two ways about it. With just over a month to go I sure as hell hope they have some more recent builds in the pipeline that have addressed most of them.

As for how it plays: Pretty much as I remember it (minus some of the bugs). I do feel there was more room for quality of life improvements that could have been implemented without pissing any purists off.

It was the same for me and Diablo 1 in 1997. I played it through in Single Player with each of the 3 characters and thought that was it.

It was a whole different game in Multiplayer with Normal, Nightmare and Hell difficulties. Then Hellfire with the LAN multiplayer patch added even more value to the experience.

Had a few DCs and CTDs e.g. while selling **** the stutter starts and ctd...

...sigh. Why not just open and let pre-orders play.

You can watch someone on twitch for 2.5hrs to get free early access into the beta. Don't even need to purchase the game. I just installed and played it for a couple hours. Then uninstalled.

For those who attempted multiplayer, how does the netcode hold up?

Is it still the old swing and wait or is it more like D3/PoE's predictive netcode?

Basically, will it be possible to play online without it affecting gameplay with a 180ms ping?

During EA it was imho quite bad. I had a few rubberband scenarios, doors not opening and disconnects*. However, when this wasn't the case it was perfect, so lets see how beta weekend goes. But... 30 days from now; they probably need at least 60 more if this is the release build we are playing on.

*But Blizz did release wow, wow classic, starcraft, ... and still can't get it right? or is the activation's doing? Time will tell.

I just read now that there will be an offline single player mode :)

It's been done by Vicarious games so I have faith ...

Thank god, if so, and they do not do another 180, because the rubber banding is kak.

TCP / and lan's are so like 1990's

I think if I had to play at 200ms all the time i'd go nuts ! I'll only jump online for those 8 man Baal runs for epix lewt :)

I actually had fun over the weekend, disappointed you couldn't validly play the necromancer. Ran a Barb around and it was good brainless fun.

Will be doing a fishymancer as my starter though once it goes live.

First toon is a skelemancer for me :)

Then prob's a bowazon. hopefully us saffa's can make a local guild or discord group for item runs and general helping out lowbies.

:p Same thing, can see most people doing the build as it requires very little in terms of items.

Just don't want to think about 8 Necro's in a game with 20 minions each trying to get down a passage a popping off a corpse explosion or 2

Unless you playing just for the story. Cause then you just finish and move on, like I normally do.
