Diablo2 technicalities

Okay...

I installed the original Diablo 2 (not full installion)... , no patches.
But i notice that the characters dont move very well.(face the wrong direction slightly)...due to the fact that there are 8 directions.

But when I copy teh main game files from The PLAY cd to teh installation directory... Things improve, Movements are much better now(i think 16 directons)...strange?

I were a Diablo 2 freak. But that was so long ago. I can't remember all the technical issues anymore.
 
I started playing again 2 weeks ago and had the same issue. Updating to 1.11 fixed it. Might have something to do with the new installation cause the original had 3 discs and i don't remember this happening.
 
It cant be a patch issue., cos i did a clean install of teh version 1.03,..then Manually copy the main files from Play cd to teh install dir. and teh problem is gone!, if u dont do this teh problem is there. weird
 
Also reinstalled D2 + LoD last week again. But I've always, *always* chosen the complete, full, gimme-all-the-data-please installation. Don't have those issues.
 
Yeah, full installion is teh way to go., but it shouldnt give this strange behavior in da part install. does the full install , install everything from the Cinematics disc?

btw:To be honest i am a bit dissappointed with diablos2 graphics, Diablo 1 looked far better, and i wish Tristram was more complete.
 
Would love to play this game again but on a resolution of 1650x 1050 wide it looks crap.
