Dial Plan for South Africa

hi all. i am using the x-lite softphone software and when i dial a number in cape town, for example, 021 123 1234, it does not connect. however if i dial +27211231234 it does connect.

now i know this is due to the "dial plan" not being setup correctly in the software. could anyone share a dial plan with me that works for south african numbers without having to enter the +27 bit?

Who's your VOIP providor ?

Your SIP providor should do the conversion for you, if they are a South African providor if you are using an international VOIP service then yes they will require you to dial in international format, I don't know if x-lite has a digit mapping service if it does then great.

If you can get your softphone to do digit mapping or dial mapping then setup a rule for 0|N. to be translated to +27N. where N is numbers 1 to 9 and not 0
 
Are you connecting directly to the voip provider or via a PBX? PBX can use a prefix and prepend dial plan that can sort those things out.
 
Hello. can someone tell me whats the dialplan entry for bitco. What format does Bitco need one to send dial strings in?
 
Best ask them directly, this thread is also over a year old btw.
