Dial ppp with Ubuntu 9.10?

Hello

Been trying to figure out how to dial ppp with Ubuntu 9.10's Connection Manager. I can connect to a ppp connection via numerous ways in the terminal, but I CANT dial with the Connection Manager creating a 'DSL' connection. Can someone guide me through the steps?
