Did I buy the wrong HDD?

7200.12 is totally fine..

7200.11 would be a problem...

seriously, I spend my life bringing 7200.11 (and some of the maxtor's) out of their stuck busy state... pays the bills! :)

As long as your pc has a SATA port it will work

Of course ;) I was more concerned on reliability issues as the PC stays on 24/7. Plus im going to use it for important data storage (if tv/movies is important...) as my external 750GB is full. Dont want to lose all data after a HDD failure... thanks HTC guy!

I would not buy Seagate. Had 3 750gig units and had to replace 2 of them. They were less than a year old.

Seems that Seagate is having a lot of reliability issues these days.

They're reliability has decreased since they took over Maxtor. It seems they retrenched the wrong QC department.
