Did telkom up my linespeed?

I have a 384 line with a Telkom 5102g router on it. Still stock standard (after the lightning killed my old router)

AATM I'm downloading slackware 12.2 from mirror.ac.za @ speeds of up to 70KB/sec
It fluctuates between 45 - 70KB/sec.
I'm pretty sure my line should not be able to do that. So did telkom slip up and upgrade my line or am I just daydreaming at 1am?

It happens to me to sometimes, especially local late at night. Can download files at 60KB/s

I also get higher speeds such as those from local mirrors, but only late at night and like you said - it's not always at that transfer rate.

+1 on RavenServers.
It happens to me too now and then, as expected only when there is like no one else online... and it's usually only local. Hardly ever happens on an international link.
