Diesel injectors

I'm currently running two of my car's normal injectors, and two TD4 injectors while the others are in for refurbishing/repairs. Although it is smooth, the car is sluggish as hell, and thirsty as fukc! 10k per liter town driving

Then they're probably different, flow rate, nozzle spray angle, impedence etc could vary. Unless the ones in the TD4 have the exact same bosch part# I would not assume them to be identical.

Yeah, can't wait to get the others back. Strangely these did not trigger the engine management light.

Any recommendations where to have reconditioning done in Gauteng for a ML270's injectors?

Diesel Electric you can find country wide.

Ok Thanks, will look them up.

Is recon injectors as good as the new ones? Anyone have experience and can give feedback on how good the recons was?

I plan to take them out and put them back myself. Anything I should be looking out for or is it as straight forward as it looks. I know sometimes you get a stuck one and then you have a problem.

No idea on the recon thing.

The removal thing looks pretty easy, I would just read up beforehand a bit on things you should do. Never worked on a diesel before but I assume you would treat it the same as a petrol system, disconnect petrol pump and try starting so you alleviate pressure, disconnect battery and then remove the entire assembly (common rail), well that's just me guessing any way.

Before you go for a recon, gooi in some 2SO or Wynns Diesel Cleaner and see if performance improves

When the guys at British 4x4 get this type of job, they chuck in 1/2L of 2SO in the customer's tank and ask them to come back in a week. Or was this for glow plug removal, can't remember exactly.

Awesome, thanks!

Ok, our Bosch system picks up 2 possible part numbers for the injectors: 0445 110 216 and 0445 110 131

I would recommend taking one out and just making sure which one is the right one then you can phone Diesel electric.

Many thanks! I have managed to find two refurbished injectors for a very reasonable price.
