Difference between payfine.co.za and paymyfine.co.za?

Hi

If payfine.co.za (or paycity or whatever) alreadty exists, what is the point of paymyfine.co.za? Do they serve a different purpose? Can I pay the same fines at either? SMSs from the metro now have a link to paymyfine.co.za so I'm just wondering where this came from and whether its safe to use.

Probably 2 different businesses, competing for the same market, and you could use either? They both probably have agreements/relationships with the different traffic departments in the various municipalities.

Edit: Just visited http://www.paymyfine.co.za/. It has nothing to do with paying fines. Perhaps someone made a typo when sending out the SMS or setting up their Bulk SMS messaging system, or was looking to get free publicity to this website in the guise of a a typing "mistake".

Well, paymyfine.co.za leads to a page which says
This domain was registered on behalf of a Tradepage client. Currently there is no page to display as the domain may be used solely for Email, or the site is under development.

So legit or not, it's not even up and running yet.

What's also interesting, is that www.paymyfine.co.za leads to a site called "Hi-Tech Digital Solutions".

Also been getting smss from them the last 2 days.

There seems to be no "About page" and they're trying to make it look like a JoBurg Municipality Site.

Some digging in the T&Cs they identify themselves as "TMT Services & Supplies (Pty) Ltd" with Google results as "TMT" or "Traffic Management Technologies" one of the parties in the e-Tolling Saga.

Guess they're trying to make money out of JMPD too now...

My fines are payed up at the moment, so the SMS was really just a ploy to use fear as a motivator to get you to register with their service.

TMT, in a joint venture with international Tolling partners, Kapsch TrafficCom, have been awarded the Gauteng Open Road Tolling project by the South African National Roads Agency. This is the first project of its type in South Africa and one of the largest in the world. The project covers the design and build of an Open Road Tolling System for the Gauteng Province, and a National Transaction Clearing House and Violations Processing Centre, valued at R1.16 billion. It also includes turnkey operations of the project for five to eight years thereafter.

Open Road Tolling, or Multi-Lane Freeflow Tolling, involves tolling on large motorways at high speeds. Vehicles do not stop at plazas, but rather get identified by gantries erected over the road and the toll transaction is processed against an account held in a back-office. The toll charges will be applied to all vehicles. Since there are no booms, usage of the road cannot be denied to a driver who doesn’t pay, so highly effective collection and enforcement operations are required to maximize compliance by the public and ensure the success of the project. This is particularly true in a non-compliant environment like South Africa.

TMT plays an active role in the toll system delivery and operations entity, and is specifically responsible for the development of the Violations Processing Centre system and related operations. This will probably be the largest operation of its type in the world, and a complex process combining debt recovery and legislated collection processes under the AARTO Act will be followed. TMT will equip an extensive on-road enforcement presence to be deployed together with a large back-office operation.

The award of this tender, against fierce competition from a number of local and international groups, is testament to the effort put into developing this business by TMT and Kapsch over a period of more than three years, and to the operational and technical capability, experience and confidence that both parties bring to the project. It promises to be a challenging and exciting project and a world leader in many respects.​

Pet hate of mine too. I had a thread about this a while back too. Even some big name companies in SA don't do this. Idiots.

What is my traffic fine ,where did I pick it ,when I need a clarity because I never received anything fro my cell phone
