Different shocks on same model a myth or not ?

Are you guys talking about the same thing?

I see the edit now thought was talking about the protection kit

Just get new shocks a few thkse from the second hand dealer. They are a safety item and by the looks of things you don't have the experience to check if they are even functioning correctly. I'm all for saving a buck or 2, but in some cases it's better to pay the full price and get it done correctly the first time. Remember changing shocks you will have to pay for labour and alignment. So if it turns out the 2nd hand ones are no good you will be paying for the labour and alignment again.

The offset rubber boots (no proper seal onto the lower strut) and the wet oil stains at the bottom of the boots are an immediate indication that the strut seals are definitely FUBAR.
i was refering to this post

So i could possibly use the old ones ? The strut seal you mention, is that part of a new protection kit or could i possibly use the old one ?

Ok so from what i understand i just need to get the new shocks yes ? At this moment i'm thinking about getting the new KYB ones. And trying to figure out a way to fool the electronic shock system to not giving a constant alert.

Strange why it has not screamed yet anyway as the one shock is not good.

Alright I ordered KYB part nr 341826 at a cost of 1271.00 each.

He showed me that on his system it excludes the coupe, i'm hoping it's simply because the coupe is using electric shocks, hopefully there will not be an incompatibility problem, i really hope they will fit.

Anyone knows who would be able to get the Monroe E2064 shocks in case the KYB's don't fit (i can take them back)
