DigiChilli ADSL Speeds

Hey guys.

I see a number of people have signed up for uncapped accounts with DigiChilli. Can you guys post what sort of speeds your are getting. Also they accounts allow for 2 concurrent sessions, do u get the minimum 256k on each session or is it split to 128k for each session.

Lastly is anybody with a 4mb line using their spicy/mild accounts, if so what sort of speeds are you getting?

i won an acc in the twitter comp
speeds were very good until they started selling accounts
now its completly useless
cant browse at all
and newserver dl's go at 0.3kB/s if it manages to connect

Thats called Testing on an open pipe, then jamming it full of people and hoping that it all runs smoothly.:eek:
 
Yes, rather bad at the moment. Had it for a day and browsing is frustrating and downloads are pointless unless you got a lifeteime to waste. Torrents a waste of time, http downloads only slighty better and WoW is useless... Lowest I got is 1750ms. Decided to go to university to download some things - that is the extent of the frustration.

Not getting my promised minimum speeds!!!!

Dave has already explained the current speed issues. This is not an overselling problem.

We will be monitoring the circuits from NOC throughout the activity.

Do you honestly think that another speed dip today at about the same time can be pointed to Seacom?

Mostlyu I am happy, but I would like to get more feedback from the chilli team, it can't just be Dave.

can confirm that speeds have picked up to stated minimum

I think that wherever it says SEACOM substitute NEOTEL

BIGGEST mistake SEACOM ever made.

(and you can quote me on that)

Unfortunately I do not think that they had much of a choice -- the old "mafioso" at work again.

I also won an account in the twitter comp. Worked fine hey. Torrents were a bit slow at the beginning but then they were going at 35kB/s which is pretty much the max I ever get on a 384k line. (seems they have disconnected the account or something now though??)

My free twiter account is still working fine :) :) :) :D thanks again dave and the guys at digichilli

I could be wrong, but I really think DC should consider another DNS. The Google DNS is not doing da job :(. Speeds are still very erratic.

I have the 256K package. When used it this morning at 6am I got about 2mb/s. But after about 7am it droped to about 100kb/s.

I would absolutely NOT get this based on 4mb potential speeds, that would be foolhardy and possibly insane. The bursting is random and may in the long run only be limited to double your line speed.

If you want digichilli (spicy or mild) uncapped you need to be prepared to sit at 32kB 90% of the time (which I am).

Yes, wasn't planning to get it :P I'm waiting for webafrica to come up with a product. true 4mb uncapped packages are still expensive
