DigiChilli ADSL Speeds

Anyone here on a 4mb line thats got the 256k package?

I want to know your speeds please.
thanks

Earlier I was downloading several torrents at a total speed of 80-130KB/s.
Some torrents yesterday reached 250-300, must've been lucky o.O.
From the IS news server (while it was working), I got 420 on cached content, other stuff it was bouncing around 110.
Rapidshare, youtube, gametrailers and others, speeds were the same, +-12KB/s
When using Flashget, max 40.

\o/

That was early this morning, and yesterday. A few others had the same. Now I get 1KB/s per torrent haha.

I have a 384K line at home and the 256K package is perfect for me, I think.

Digichilli is broken, oh wait, that implies it worked once

Forgive me for interrupting your moan session (and we all need one once and a while that's for sure) but it certainly did work once and is working 100% for me at the moment.

Clearly it isn't universally sound but you make the issue sound oodles larger than it really is.

Well, I haven't received minimum promised speeds in the 3 days I've had the product. Let alone 10kb/s. So in my experience it has never worked. Can't load Facebook, my IMing has issues connecting, WoW refuses to let me connect, torrents are downloading in the bits range and many international sites just time out. Sadly, unlike your experience this is all I have had since getting the account.

I like the pricing and the theoretical speed. I will probably go with digichilli once they iron out their issues but it seems like the way the market is going now there will be many competitors by the time that happens.

speeds? HOW ABOUT 0KB/S
I can't stand this anymore, I have to use my prepaid afrihost acc just to access the internet. Why the hell did I pay for something I can't use?
all I see is empty promises.......:mad:

hi all, i have had a test account since last friday and it was great over the weekend, usenet was cool around 200k , since monday totally unusable, web browsing erratic and slooow, newsgroups max at 2.5k , havent tried this evening though, im happy to continue testing and give the guys a chance to stabilize , hopefully will come right soon, BTW using on a 4mb so newsgroups were running way above the 35k max

websites are loading ok,
Steam isn't going anywhere. It was doing between 6 to 10 kb/s earlier but it doesn't want to connect at all now. (was getting 40kb/s on axxess)
Random youtube video going nowhere (spinning circle - no video loading)

Ubuntu download from Great Britain (UK) PEAKING at 3kb/s (using firefox)
Ubuntu download from China - 2.4 to 3.5kb/s (also firefox - no dl manager)

Not something you would want to pay for and I wouldn't recommend them at all.
In the future, hopefully once Seacom has their **** sorted out, then give them a go.
I'm stuck with them as I've blown my cap on my Axxess account.

Give it another week or 2 then ask again...

i have a DigiChilli account on a 4mb line and browsing is like browsing on a 512k line torrents max at 2kbps (that may b my fault as im new on the torrents part) newshost i was download NZB at 450 and sometimes 500 for a while but now i cannot even connect to the news.is.co.za server and i see that some guys are still donwloading on the NZBs mayb u can help me out i cannot even get a connection now.

PM'd you G3rri3.

Thanks techrat and raedwulf.

We do understand your frustration.

Google isn't the cheapest. They're the best. We're authorised Google partners. And more than that too. The Google Apps that we sell are an upgraded version of the 'free' google apps available to the public. They rock.

The Google DNS was being used to eliminate any possibility that it was our dns servers causing the issue and latency. It's now eliminated.

We have had some over usage issues, not really due to any intention of users. The BIGGEST user - yeah, its still Gustav - is cool. He's behaving since the last hammer episode. He's network stats and monitoring software have even helped us a bit.

So, it's not just your torrents. Some people have deliberately set their torrents to be 'hidden' as http. Its not a common default, and hasn't caused too big an issue before. Even 4Mbps users aren't causing the issues. Further deliberately tweaking of your settings to avoid bandwidth management may be an issue now and then.

The deliberate brute force attack and DOS attacks are a bit annoying. We normally phone these guys and ask them to behave nicely. It would be better if we didn't have to do that at all.

We're are working 24/7 on the issue and will sort it out. We are making some changes which we have identified as possible issues. It is not something that even our BAD test users uncovered. Suffice it to say that it is in that piece between managing throttling to package size and contention with its myriads of settings. It's not something anyone has done successfully yet in this country, but we do intend to be the first.

Hold tite. This won't hurt much and you will be down for 10 min.

Morning all.

Dave
