I'll post a couple speed & ping tests using the new IP Range. Also I'm gettin 39.6kB/s from CNET when trying to download any anti-virus program.

Looking at these results I can see that the Seacom final config is taking it's toll. I couldn't test packet loss at all on

India/China/South Korea etc. Mowgs what speeds were you getting a few days ago?

@clickme I think he is a Chef and maybe is suggestion a new chilli filled meal? Tho I am loving my digicurry :p

I was getting full speed a couple of days ago. When I try to install skype, which needs to be downloaded,it also takes forever and then it just bombs out.

I take it that when DC went down the other day, when it came back up your speeds went crap? Try this to switch IP's

In Windows XP:

1) Start Menu -> Run -> type cmd and press enter -> type ipconfig /release and press enter (remeber your ip adress)
2) Switch off your router, unplug it and restart you pc.
3) Plug in your router & let it sync and start up connect to DC and go back to cmd type ipconfig and press enter and you should hopefully have another IP.

Try downloading with your new IP, if there is no change I'd say phone Digi tomorrow and have them look at your account. Don't let them phone you back keep them on the line while they fix it for you :)

Hope your speeds get better :)

Learned the hard way??

Also if they say they gonna send it to the "developers" get a ticket number, don't fall for the we will send you one

Digi has gotten way better. It's kind of sad to people judge them for what they experienced in the past. Like I said before I can't wait to see this month's stats. I've been going hard the past 7 days and pretty much went with the flow the whole month.

I'd like to see someone from MWEB 384k uncapped show their stats. Bet DC beats them

@clickme i haven't checked but I'm feeling like I did a good 60 gigs - I'll post my month's total stats on tuesday. How about you?

On my machine only did 48gigs according to netlimiter. Wasn't that much that i wanted to download. And there was also 5 days during the month that we didn't have electricity from 6am to past 7pm. But the person I share the account with did his utmost best to see how much one can download cause our total download is just under 136

See that's the problem! I just don't know what to download anymore. I get the odd game, music, movies and anime series. It seems i have a lot more time for youtube.

Also had a few powercuts and had nights when I didn't download but still I'm sure I did at least 50/60 gigs.

I am able to live with 60Gb's a month all that is needed now is a bit of speed, at a price that doesn't require a liver or kidney. 1024k with 60gig cap at the same price im paying now. And will be there in a heartbeat.

Maybe Telkom will upgrade us poor 384k user to at least 1mb - then again it is Telkom =/

60 gigs + 1meg line = Hapiness :)

Wonder what DC will do when/if we get speed upgrades

I dunno why but I have the feeling 384/512 is falling away. Unless Telkom does a 360 and goes something like 384-512-1mb-4mb-8mb-10/12mb?

I know I can get 4meg's easily, I've even seen my router say I could attain 5mb! I'll still be happy with any speeds increase. 384 is slow but at least I can get what I want, but I won't mind any speed increase :)

I did the whole ip release thing. Try downloading something now. It started at full line speed and then dropped down to under 10kb/s. Oh well, thanks for the help, going to bed now before I get angry.

Don't get angry get even ;) Phone them tomorrow and see what's up, could just be Seacom's Final Configuration that's slowing you connection down. Either way hope it gets fixed.

Night

again :(, anyone else?

Nope sorry not my side... DC's accounts department needs works coz I got the feeling they suspened your account due to "non payment" even though I'm sure you paid :erm:
