DigiChilli Launched at Last...

Errrr....don't think that's a launch page there pal, pretty sure that's just the joomla admin page while they make changes.

Those "changes" are taking a bit long though.....but I wouldn't be as niffed/alarmed if I didn't read the twitter post about accounts being limited in number......so now I'm refreshing like I have parkinsons :/

cant get it. page still says 'down for maintenance'.
when i login it says my u/name and p/word is incorrect.

rofl they 'say' the launch date is "today" but the site is down maintenance ????????????????????

DigiChilli has not officially launched, they are still not happy with their network at this stage and may just delay the launching till they are happy. The website is still down for maintanence and the username and login page u see is for the admins to log into the admin area. It will not work with ur trial username and passwords.

I just think it is pathetic to promote a launch for today 12:00/ 13:00 and all you get is a Joomla login page informing you the site is under maintenance. Honesty and transparency would have gone down much nicer with users awaiting their launch in anticipation.

What I see here is failure to plan a proper Go-to-market strategy, if they did that, it may just have shown them that they have house keeping stuff to sort out before they'll be in a position to launch.

Just my cents.

Believe me..its always better to fix the problems before the plane is on ground.

otherwise, Later on they will get worse response from us...the customers

Lets put some things in perspective here:

1) DigiChilli was hoping that they would be ready to launch today by 1:00pm with a stable network they are happy with, unfortunately $h|t happens, and as a result, they are working on stabalizing their network. Lets take Screamer as an example, they launched their services to the public, people fell for it, paid and got screwed over with no Public IP's and lots of slow downloads. THAT made Screamer a useless ISP and made a lot of people angry with Screamer. DigiChilli on the other hand, WILL NOT launch until they are fully satisfied with their network. Its as simple as that, think about it logically, would u rather have an ISP launch with ***a services and slow downloads, or would u rather wait an extra day or 2 for a ISP to sort out all the kinks with their network so that when u do PAY for your package, u are satisfied with it?

2) If you bothered to read the thread "Uncapped ADSL service starting at R500 per month", you will have noticed how much support these guys have been giving their trial customers. They are continuously providing feedback to us so that we are kept in the loop.

3) Dont complain about something that you cannot do better yourself. If you think its that easy, start your own ISP and lets see how far you get.

FYI, I read ALL the threads w.r.t DigiChilli on Mybroadband thank you. What YOU don't understand is, you DO NOT publish dates to launch a service without making 100% sure that you'll be ready.

Lemme remind you, the 1st of December came and gone, 12:00/ 13:00 as per their own communiqué came and OOPS, has gone. I know enough about go-to-market strategies to know that this is a classic example of "How NOT to do a new product launch"

Registered 3 times since beginning of November so far all I got back each time is a copy of the details I registered with and the promise of someone getting back to me, still waiting, a bit of joke if you ask me and it is not April 1st yet!!

Like I said in my post above. Start your own ISP and lets see how far you get. You clearly have NO idea that sometimes things go wrong even if you are SURE that everything is fine.

I can clearly see that YOU are not a very intelligent person...let me make it simple for you - seeing that YOU started the carcasm, even if FIFA and the LOC thought there could potentially be problems during the 2010 draw yesterday, they would have never even considered cancelling the event...WHY? Any potential issues or risks are addressed upfront during project risk mitigation

Mweb is an axample for you, their service was crap when they launched, but they did not cancel their innitial launch, oh no, and are they still around? YES, and very respectable as an ISP mind you.

Same as you sir. Still waiting.

respectable as an ISP? ROFL! People who are using MWEB are unaware of the new ISP's that provide cheaper ADSL packages, and the people who ARE aware of it, have moved from MWEB. You obviously have a grudge against DigiChilli (maybe because they can actually make a difference in the broadband world in SA, while your ISP cannot). Please dont insult me because you fail to see the benefit of an ISP launching when they are happy with their network and prefer an ISP to launch with terrible services.
