I don't think the problem is with Digichilli. I thing the problem is with Seacom/Neotel itself.

If you look at the companies that just supply Seacom data they all have the same issues. I read somewhere that Cybersmart actually cancelled their agreement with Seacom for this exact reason and went back to SAT.

The sad thing is that despite all Digichilli does nothing will improve until their suppliers sort their issues out.

I do stand to be corrected here so feel free to elaborate if I am wrong. :D

By the way speaking of Cybersmart does anyone know what this secret offer that they are launching next year is?

I must disagree.. Yes, they have all been having issue but my Afrihost account is miles ahead in terms of my digichilli account which has been unusable much of the time while my Afrihost account has worked just fine. So clearly the issues are not the same. I have not heard any complaints that rival those in this thread...

DC only uses Seacom for intl afaik.... hence the cheaper prices..... IS/SAIX intl is way too expensive.

what line is that on?

It seems that we still have a situation where some people are getting semi-decent access whilst others have none. What could explain this Dave?

I am getting roughly 10KB/s on nntp

I'm on 384 line.

Afrihost does not run on seacom, do they ??

Just did a test.... my intl torrents (a few of them) have managed to hit 31KBps....

Come on people, we have the greatest minds in the country in this forum.

What creates this issue?

Is it a server CPU overload issue?

Probably routing/IP table related. Dropping of packets could be that or incorrect software configuration. Would be nice if we can get some feedback from Dave in detail what is causing the problem.

When I look at that table I posted above, I want to f**kslap some technicians in London and in Durban and in Midrand...since that route, along a gazzillion hops shows no packet loss untill the seacom moment...the error...100, 85, 100, 100% packet loss...

From me to Visual Route is almost perfect with 12% packet loss. http://mybroadband.co.za/photos/showphoto.php?photo=13941&cat=500

Someone, somewhere, along that route, needs a slap...
