It was working just fine for me...

except the routing to certain local sites was problematic so I've had to switch back to Afrihost temporarily to get some work done....

Was expecting a christmas gift from digichilli today, but turns out nothing new happened. Same old connection issues :( Now the wait till new years..

HTTP has been doing just fine for me since yesterday or so. Are all the people complaining about things being bad yesterday/today having a problem with just Torrents/News-servers or HTTP as well?

Sorry I know this is off the topic but does anyone know of a way or of software that can prioritize certain internet activities. Example if I am downloading torrents then open a web page enough bandwidth will be automatically allocated to browsing as torrents will be set at low priority? LOL sounds like personal account shaping.:D

I use something called NetLimiter which works on Windows. You can use it to set limits to what an application is allowed to use.

For Linux you can use any of a number of tools (Squid comes to mind).

You can also use the QoS function on your router (I know the Mega105WR can do QoS and the custom firmware for my Linksys can do QoS as well, but depending on the router/modem you use, YMMV)

Today and last night:

Torrents: Dead.
HTTP: Mostly Dead.
Browsing: Unknown.

Should I change my torrent port?

Thanks, I will give it a try. :)

Gonna try my DC connection just now, hope I see an improvement.

Have a lovely Christmas everyone :)

Hi Bradz,

That's easy enough with router shaping. E.g. on a Linksys. We've got client side shaping on dd-wrt if you need.

Dave

My internet is still running fine. Also got the protocol priority issue on my side, but not going to complain, as I've only been able to even touch intl torrents now for 24h...

My connection died around 01:00 this mourning and is still dead, I can't browse or download using Rapidshare.

My connection is simply dead.

Why do they have these modem scheduled disconnects/resets every x number of seconds?

I'm enjoying this period of kick-ass on my connection :D After all, I've been without for a long time while you lot were still browsing ;)

Feels like Christmas to me. Http is fast, things are running well.
