Running slow... this I could bear, but I can't connect to any TF2 game servers :'(

I really don't want to use my afrihost bandwidth for something digichilli could surely do?
 
Became a chilli member Last sunday. 384k line on a spicy account R240. Like for most Intl browing has been truly crappy except for the last 48 hours... was fine for me on both the 41 & 196 IP ranges.
Msn has stopped connecting for the last 48 hours as well as Yahoo messenger
Youtube videos are painfully slow or times out trying to load.
Http downloads have yet to complete

However since joining torrents have always ran fine for me. Here and there, there are periods on slowness where they drop to between 5-10kpbs but otherwise I get a constant 25-35kpbs. So all in all I have downloaded 9.76GB since sunday as per utorrent. I no longer play games so I can't comment on latency ect. *Broke in and stole my gaming desktop and left everything else* :mad:

Overall I guess I've been more lucky then most and except for the above irritations for me I will be staying with Digichilli unless a equally priced and uncapped account becomes available from some one else where everything works.

One thing I have noticed that is weird (and perhaps somehow related to shaping) is that if I view a webcomic such as QC it very often loads just a portion of the image, regardless of size - almost as if it's being interrupted.
 
eish dont mean to bash or anythin but my connection is crap. it seems that a few are gettin good service while some of us are taken back to the days of dial-up.

to all u people with good connections, did ur'll do something to make it that way or somethin?

international browsing and downloading is pathetic. the only site that seems to work is this one.

hows local torrents and news servers? anyone?

Didn't do anything... it just worked better.....
Local torrents are fine... no access to local news servers.
Intl news servers go up to around 100K, I've been told.

I used to have massive connection issues - couldn't browse anywhere at all. Turned out it was something with my router I was using then (Netgear DG834) - I swapped over to a D-Link I had lying around and it's worked fine ever since.

geez wish i had a spare router around. but i doubt its my router cos just yesterday i was gettin not very consistent, but good speeds-twas peaking at about 39KBps.

now im back to where i used to be:cry:
 
I'm connecting through a PPPoE connection and that doesn't seem to make things any better in case anyone is wondering.

Occasionally my connection spikes quite wildly up to 400kb/s.... it last for a few seconds then goes back down to 30-40kb/s.

Just wondering if maybe tomorrow Dave and co might want to look at that since I would guess the speedlimiting stuff may not be working 100%

The update was that they're not working today. They're also not working on the 1st January 2010. No updates or anything today, or on the 1st.
 
There is some serious speed limiting going on. OK i guess.

The problem is that they have not resolved the initall issues, like single thread downloads.

So now we limited, and dont have the speed on the things that dont work.

Currently, max downloads come in at 15KBs
No MSN
Very Bad Skype
No Youtube
No Streaming Audio
Torrents are also limited to similar speeds

Web browsing does not lend well to the current setup. The files that do start coming in, are limited, so are almost sure to fail.

Hope things improve. Openweb starting beta testing of 384 uncapped.

Looks like there will be lots of offerings out there soon

ok i have been "browsing" at this speed for 2 or 3 days now... i think i am gng to go out to telkom and get a dial up... will be uncapped and also faster

4meg line BTW?!

this is starting to get on my nerves now
 
I dont know if anyone else noticed this yet, but I cant connet to Playstation network on Digichilli. I'm using the R300 offer, and my PSN login times out, it managed to connect once, then dropped the connection while I attempted to open the PSN store. Can you solve this? its the main reason why I have uncapped with Digichilli. If you can't I'll have to go back to Afrihost.
 
do u know what i fine very offensive they put out a service which we pay for and during the Christmas times they decide to f off and not work give us updates what so ever. i believe they should be working around the clock 24/7 365days so they can get this thing fixed. If you knew there would be a prob like this employ more ppl and get it DONE.
 
Seb... if you're unhappy with the product you've purchased, kindly request a refund.

To state that these guys need to work over what is one of the most important holiday for Christians is callous and just unacceptable in my books.
